He fought most of the best at the lower weights.

Castillo, gave him a rematch. Fought the percieved monster Corrales. Not many other big names, Mosley wasn't going to happen down there.

Dropped off up at 140 (fighting DeMarcus and other rubbish). But Cotto and Hatton would not have faced him then.

Fought a 'threat' in Judah. Although he lost, Mayweather could hardly just back out. Moved up to face a much bigger man in Oscar.

Now is facing the dangerous Hatton.

It wouldn't surprise me if he fought Cotto or Williams next. His biggest percieved threats.

Not to have a go man cause your being very reasonable. But Floyd is not at then "end" of his carrier. He is 30.

Also IMO if Pea had not been robbed up until Trinidad beat him. So he would have been undefetaed.

Roy was undefeated untill he lost to Tarver the 2nd time (i do not count DQ's as losses.)

Ricky Hatton has told about Floyd Mayweather's style:

"Floyd always backs up and that's the woman's part. He covers more miles than Forrest Gump."

IMO Williams and Cotto are at 147lbs what Corrales and Castillo were at 130lbs and 135lbs.

If Floyd fights and beats them, that will elevate his status to the sky.

Cotto would represent the preasure style of Castillo at 135lbs and Williams would represent the height that Corrales brought at 130lbs. In a way, Floyds career would be coming full circle.

good assesment CHJ. one win that also impressed me about floyd was the genaro hernandez fight. to the best of my knowledge the guy never lost a fight at 130, had beat some good challengers, and was doing ok against hoya at 135. a young floyd just outclassed him throughout, that fight just told us that this guy would be something. i'm not even a floyd fan.

That was the last fight of a 14 year career for Hernandez. It was more payday than Challenge and Genaro was destroyed by DLH was nuthin bout doin allright. GH was damn good 130 fighter in his time, Floyd got his retirement version.

Young Floyd left fighters at 30 Casa and Freitas, just like every other.

Please, Hernandez was a 32 year old champ with 1 loss on his record when Floyd fought him. He still could've fought after he loss to Floyd. However, he was so discouraged after getting completely dismantled that he decided to retire.

Is that what Hernandez said, or are you putting those words there for him?

If you're going to add guys like Castillo and Corrales as potential HOF, then add guys like Jose Luis Ramirez (who would beat both imo), Buddy McGirt (again, who would beat both, and quite easily) and Julio Cesar Vasquez for Whitaker.

And why the hell is Roger Mayweather there as a potential HOF? Whitaker fought and beat plenty better guys than him. Even Freddie Pendleton starched him. As did Pineda. Both of whom Whitaker dominated.

I think it comes down to this: whether you think Whitaker beat DLH. If you do, there is no question he should be first on the list. If you think he lost, then Roy Jones should be first on the list.

Floyd, even if you think he beat Castillo and a past prime DLH (I don't) isn't even in the contest as it stands. Should he beat Cotto and Hatton, then he can be put up there in a discussion with Pea and RJ.
