    Floyd Mayweather Sr

Turned pro in 1974, last fight was in 1990 (comeback after a 5 year lay off between 85' - 90') - 16 year career.

    35 fights = 28-6-1

    - Never won a recognised title although challenged for the USBA WW title for what it's worth.
    - Went 10 rounds with Sugar Ray Leonard & dropped 2 decisions to Marlon Starling

    Roger Mayweather

Turned pro in 1981, last fight was in 1999 - 18 year career.

    72 fights = 59-13

    - 2 weight world champion.
    - Went in with big names e.g. Whitaker, Chavez, Tszyu.

    Jeff Mayweather

Turned pro in 1988, last fight was in 1997 - 9 year career.

    47 fights 32-10-5

    - IBO world champion.
    - Biggest name faced was De La Hoya, who stopped him in 4.

Now I know it's clear as day that the stand out of the 3 was "Uncle Roger" but I'm just looking for a bit more insight.

Jeff came around a little while after his older brothers but how notable where the "boxing Mayweather family" before little Floyd came along and become the jewel in the crown?

Roger is seen as the best as he achieved the most, but was he the most talented? Ray Leonard recognised Floyd Sr as being a fighter he very much rated and as it's commonly known he was shot in the leg.

In a perfect world for the dysfunctional Mayweather's, if all there heads where screwed on, would Roger have still been the stand out?

What's your opinions on them & how did you rate them?

I think if everything went well, Floyd Mayweather Sr would have been the best among them. I also think Floyd Sr would have beaten Sugar Ray Leonard because when he fought Leonard one of his hands was broken and he still gave Leonard a competitive fight.

Roger's main problem was his chin and lack of good defense. All he needed to do to improve his defense was keep his hands up but he doesn't want to.

Jeff had great reflexes and was a good boxer but he didn't have a lot of power in either hand. Oscar De La Hoya had a more accurate and stronger jab which bested Jeff.

Floyd Mayweather was a good fighter with a lot of talent. He would not have beaten Ray Leonaed with 3 good hands.
