To the TS theres no need to trip. Floyd in due time will finally be accepted and credited for all of his accomplishments and years later you'll see these same people who talk **** now say how they loved him and even payed for his fights as proof. You see Floyd is held to a higher standard because everyone knows he's really the best and being black is only a fraction of it. More is expected mostly out of the best and coincidently for some reason its been a black guy more likely than not. Just because that's how he acted, doesn't mean that he wasn't loved by the general public. He was a dynamic, skilled, powerful champion and his appearance on the HW scene was the most exciting thing in the division since Tunney's reign. He was clearly well liked, not only for his performances in the ring but outside of it for his war efforts. Obviously what the American government did to him was shitty and heartless but he DID dig himself into that financial hole on his own. No doubt the government should have excused him much much earlier, but there isn't anything special about even loved boxers going **** bum broke after their championship reign. Similar things happened to Benny Leonard, Sam Langford, Ray Robinson, Armstrong etc....

I did not say he wasnt a great fighter if you read through my post you will see it says great fighter, he was a fraud though im not sure how he really was as a person but he was not allowed to be seen with white women or even do anything slightly in resembelance to jack johnson, the only reason they liked him is because he beat a german fighter during the war. yes im not saying its ok to dig a financial hole but since he was so beloved why didnt these lovers help him out, since afterall in your opinion he had so many who loved him dearly. nobody ;loved ray robinson until he retired floy is modern day srr
