    This is part of the article from endi.com where JMM was advising Cotto about his upcoming fight against Mayweather:

    After receiving his champion ring Arce says he feels honored to be recognized even more than in his own country. I think that says a lot about PR and its boxing fans. All mexicans at the weight in ceremony yesterday look like they were having fun and were feeling comfortable. I think it was very classy. Nice to see both Latin countries enjoying the sport.

    It is good to see. People take this rivalry out of proportion. We should always be respectful of the other but I know it usually does not happen with Mexico-PR.

    Real boxing fans shouldn't hate any boxers, rivalry is ok but don't hate.I was recently honored to meet Garcia and Brandon despite the fact that they represent the "enemy ".
    Some people blow the rivalry out of proportion either because they are no mature enough or because they are just casual fans carried away by nationalism and fanatism but not by the beauty of the sport.

    Honestly Kid, when i saw your name on the thread I was thinking maybe you'll post "Cubans will erase all these rivalry and be ahead over them."

    :lol::lol::lol::lol:

    Well, boxing is one of the truly international sports. Latinos have rivalry with fellow latin countries, same with Oriental countries, Philippines and Thailand and Indonesia have long been battling for supremacy in the orient.

    And it brings much more flavor and excitment to the sport.

    Don't get me wrong buddy, I respect them all... But I enjoy every time a Cuban beats the crap of anybody .
    I have good friends Mexicans and ricans and we have fun with the rivalry among us,recently they are up my ass with the Gamboa situation and I'm in a defensive mode until further explanation given.

    Tell me about it, it's really hard sometimes to defend a fighter you like.

    We'll have our own rivalry as well once Donaire-Rigo gets fixed.

    That's one hell of a match. :good

    Donaire vs Rigo would be beautiful.

    I would be a neutral sitting back and enjoying. Boxing is king.
