He does have a decent jab and it was frustrating that he didn't use it at all. I think he would have wore a lot less leather if he had of established his jab first.

so you'll think he'll beat casamayor? i think he'll have a hard time against juan diaz ad will have little or no chance against joel. but still, great performance from katsidis. lots of room for improvement though

This was the only fight I saw of his so I guess he could have used his jab more in the past. You're right, if he would have used that jab more against Almosot than he could have saved his face a lot of damage. If he does have a decent jab he'll need it against the better guys in the division. He has a lot of offensive tools but needs to work them off the jab more.

Amonsot was trained by Freddie Roach. He was no bum like people would have you believe. His one loss was a lucky punch KO loss where he didn't prepare or have proper training for the fight. I knew just from watching footage that if Amonsot came out focused he would be tough to overcome. I think that Diaz will beat Kat, but it won't be a blow out like some are making out. If this fight gets made it will be the FOTY no question.

Exciting fighter! I want Juan Diaz to destroy him but otherwise I wish him luck. With a style like his I hope he doesn't get himself hurt. A guy can't take too many beatings like the one he took last night.

Most of us Aussies have been on board a while now.

but i say if Rocky can learn a bit of defense from say a defensive expert like Floyd Mayweather Sr.

LOOKOUT. But hey theres nothing wrong with being the next Gatti. Boxing needs Katsidis more than we think.

The Amonsot fight was my first exposure to 'the great' Katsidis and I came away extremely impressed.
That Amonsot kid has some unreal toughness and heart though, eh? Both guys gave us a thrilling fight, and I think power made the difference in the end.
You have to worry about Katsidis' face holding up in future bouts but blood and thunder warriors like him aren't around much these days, and this kd could be a major draw in the future.
Katsidis has the intangibles to reach the top. A bit more refinement in other areas is needed, but hopefully this will come in time.

    Great win for Katsidis.
I was on the bandwagon a couple years ago now.
Before he beat another exciting Philipino in Ranee Ganoy.
