I'm not boxing historian, but I seen that many of the big time Michigan fighters have elite right hands. Joe Louis Hitman Hearns Roger Mayweather James Toney Floyd Mayweather Andre Dirrell, southpaw so no right hand but still has a mean cross even prospects like J'Leon Love Is this a Michigan tradition like how Latin fighters love the left hook to the body?
No. There are two distinct styles to come out of Michigan - the Joe Louis style and the Mayweather style. But big right hands isn't genetic from there or anything, and Michigan has a horrible fanbase. Kronk guys are modified versions of the Louis style. Guys like Dirrell, Paris, etc. opt for the Mayweather style.
im from michigan . are fanbase is really bad. i love boxing to death and i know a bunch of others that do as well , but the average people dont kno ****. i asked people at work if they new who manny pacquiao was and out of 3 people only one of them knew who he was. the one person who did no him said yeah the lil asian he throws punches likes this and he imitated him coming flying in throwing bombs
Michigan P4P maybe the greatest city on earth for boxers per capita. But you can't compare a Hearns to a Toney, or even a Roger Mayweather to a Floyd,
The decline in boxing fans is bad. Michigan is often seen as the state that has produced the best fighters
I suspect the etymology of those styles came from elsewhere, perhaps from down South. Blackburn, Smith and Miller had to learn from someone.
The population of Michigan State is about about 20% bigger than the republic of Ireland + northern Ireland. If you're referring to land mass, I have no idea.
there still is alot of fans in michigan. alot of people got to my gym n everyone knows there **** but its still really find another guy like me outside the gym ppl seriously dnt kno ****, if i bring up boxing the only thing i can garuantee is that is going to be said is mike tysons name will be brought up
