This is true.... there are one too many on the list that I see as potential paper champs that hold belts hostage fighting weak mandatories ala Sturm

I'm pretty sure he's not with Universum anymore, they've been the roadblock. (Golovkin, Dzinziruk, Erdei and others all struggled legally to get away from them)

Macklin, Chudinov brothers (Dmitri's better imo) and Jacobs were left out. I don't think they're top tier though.

These are the tier 1 MW guys imo

    Golovkin
    Pirog
    Lemieux
    Korobov
    N'jikam
    Lara (154 right now)
    Guerrero

Pirog is light years ahead of the others on that list except Martinez

Pirog can't fight going backwards. He's not "light years" ahead of anyone.

Dude, sometimes I wonder why certain people feel they belong in a boxing forum.

Pirog is already 30 years old! in 2 years he will be near the end of his career!

yeah that really sucks if he was 25 it would be awesome, on the other hand the guy is relatively fresh and has a style that causes him not to get punished, he could be good in 5 years, martinez is 35 as well now, he will be out of the picture in 2/3 years.

Obviously, you are not following this division very closely.

The MW division will be very entertaining in the future. Who will come on top? I don't know. Many of them are very good punchers (Golovkin, Pirog, Lemieux, etc.) so even if some of them lose, the fights will be interesting to watch.
