Never in my 82 years on the planet have I experienced a middleweight division as weak and depleted of talent as today's MWs.
The division has the be the weakest division in the sport and is in desperate need of a major talent injection.

This was apparent when Martinez, Cotto and Canelo ran amuck in the division and there were no true great MWs to stop them.

Golovkin, Jacobs, Saunders are all William Joppy level fighters. Prime Taylor and Pavlik would have iced them all.

The MW division is now formally, The division of Bums.

I expect you to be more creative with your trolling uppercut. Calling a division the worst ever just because a certain fighter you hate is head and shoulders above the rest in it must be the oldest and lamest hater argument.

Golovkin only exists because the division is dead.

    Prove me wrong.
What MW mega-fights are on the horizon? Name one?

I'm not saying It's great, but It's not nearly the worst. You just want to assume guys like Saunders and Jacobs are weak because you know they have a slim chance against GGG.

Take a look at the Chudinov brothers. One is a top 5 SMW, the other one is a non-factor at MW. And they're equally mediocre.

Somehow I knew this was a Shockmaster thread before I opened it. How long before this alt also gets the axe from the mods?

It's all hypothetical, but I think that Golovkin would beat Joppy by KO. Same with Taylor, and Pavlik. I would also favor Jacobs, over all three as well. That being said, outside of Golovkin, and Jacobs, there is a bit of a drop off. A guy like Andy Lee wouldn't be a top 10 guy most years of the 90s

MW is not weak as say 135. It is devoid of superstars. If boxing was to rid of 154, 160 would be the deepest.

In fact those guys should move up and test them jaws at 160 because GGG makes it look easy. A lot of 154 guys are 6ft and over. Andrade arm length alone would keep GGG at bay.

Over 6ft you say, clearly a big guy who's probably killing himself to make 154,Golovkin even frightens folk in to not moving up to middleweight as we seen with Canelo.
Granted the middleweight division isn't what it once was but we are measuring it against an amazing era when Tony,RJJ,BHop,Eubank,Benn etc etc were about, anyone know what it was like when Hagler was King?my guess is it wasn't anything like that era I just mentioned and yet I've not heard anyone call Hagler for beating his own division.
What you need to be asking is why nobody in the top half the middleweight division will step in the ring with Golokin,if they even talked about facing each other at some point the division would be so much better,GGG v Saunders and Jacobs v Eubank or vice versa would be mega.

Many jMWs have already stated that they are moving up and with the sad state of the MW division, they will probably do every well and enter the top 10 with ease.

Jacobs would probably lose to Joppy or Johnson. He definitely gets bet by both Pavlik and Taylor.

Bute barely beat an old ancient Johnson and Jacobs is not much better than Bute.

Little Tito would make Golovkin walk like a duck and Glen Johnson would have KOed him.

Canelo, Cotto, and Martinez run a muck because there's no one to stop them, or because they refuse to fight the other top middleweights?

Jacobs vs Eubank is something that Jacobs should be lobbying for hard and get that UK money. I agree 160 has crashed into a wall since GGG arrived. Quillin semi retired himself, Jacobs keeps trying to fight Mora and ???, I had never heard of Saunders until GGG went on his quest for the belts.

I **** on the guy but he can fight. Money is no longer the excuse when he is 3rd behind Canelo and Joshua in paydays now.

 Why should they fight the other top MWs who are mediocre at best and none of them capable of generating the revenue of Martinez-Cotto or Cotto-Alvarez?
Get a clue. This sport isn't called "fan-friendly fighting". That's the UFC.
This here sport is called, Prize fighting.
