What is a Pusedo-science? That must be the science made by bottom feeders that dropped out of middle school like yourself.

Believe it or not I wouldn't be surprised if there were posters who work for the site who drive traffic so the site can pull in revenue.

I do believe the MW is about average though but not any worse than SMW.

Well that "trolls drive traffic" theory is well-touted on this forum. I have my doubts about Schlong though. A guy like that can kill a website.

MW is in fairly good shape. I remember a while ago folk were talking about how stacked it was. Then GGG came along and it seems opinions changed. I have a theory that a greatly dominant fighter makes a division look ordinary.

    Bingo.

Imagine the perception of the 70's heavyweight division if Ali had instead whitewashed Frazier in their first fight and schooled Norton. The best thing for the perception of the division is that he got beat, or at the very least, looked vulnerable from time to time.

Eh. If he had moved up through a talented division it would be different. Instead he was kinda sidelined with Universum and some of the blame is on him too for it. The previous era had already moved on or was at least on its last leg by the time he got a better promoter and started to become a force in the division. He has been fighting the guys who were not dominant in the last era or guys who would not have been a force in that era. Miguel Cotto got chased out of LMW by Austin Trout and then went up to beat the man in Martinez who only stuck around that long at MW because he could still beat the so called "top" fighters with his injuries. Guys like Lemiuex and Andy Lee (fan of both btw) weren't sucessful in the last era and stuck around and finally got their titles at MW because of the lack of talent with the current crop of fighters but were unsuccessful in the previous era. SMW is facing the same lull with guys who are still around like Bute, Andre Dirrel, and guys who would not have done as well in the last era like Jack and Groves. Groves only success being throwing the sink at an old and even slower Froch and still failing to win while beating Chunky who hasn't done much.

MW reminds me of SMW while I do admit MW has a guy who could of been a serious contender in the previous era but came on when it was at its end due to promotion issues and his own misgiven trust when he could of been in the mix sooner. So GGG is in that lull and he is dominating it is really unfortunate how his career was handled.

Why did they earn the most money there? Because Middleweight is a prestige division with a ton of history. You literally just argued for smaller fighters moving up to 160 because it draws more money, not against it.

If Al won't match his top guys up at 154, he'd make more money taking the ones who are squeezed out and having them dominate 160.

The only reason he won't make that move is he doesn't believe they can actually do it. So, he'll just have gatekeepers Vanes and Trout continue making the rounds at 154.

That's the last serious response you can expect from me in this abortion of a thread, and this is likely one too many.

Why does this thread shock anyone. It is from a creature who when posting as sweetscigure made fun of Abdusalamov being in a come simply because of his ethnicity. How this repulsive creature is allowed to spread his toxic filth on here with impunity is beyond me.

Spamming the board with GGG hate threads seems benign in comparison.

There were polls on this and other forums around 2012ish regarding the relative strengths of different divisions and MW was widely regarded as one of the stronger ones - that was when Pirog was still around, Maravilla hadn't yet really shown his age (and was widely regarded as #2 P4P), Sturm was still held in high regard and Chavez Jr was still thought to be a hot ticket. These guys had a supporting cast of guys like Macklin, Murray, Geale and Barker to fill out the top 10 and GGG somewhere at the top end but far from the established kingpin.

And yeah I tend to agree that having one particularly dominant fighter in a division tends to diminish the regard in which it's held. MW also suffers from a lack of US stars IMO and therefore exposure, with most US based guys prefering to opt for 154 over the last several years (presumably to be closer to the Floyd / Pac sweepstakes) if they can make the cut. If fans see these guys on HBO / SHO a few times a year there seems to be a belief that they're automatically better fighters.

The MW division is as dead as the Klitscho era HW division.
Not because Golovkin is dominating bums, but that the division is full of bums.
Jacobs is better off as a broadcast commentator, Saunders is a nobody who has fought nobody. Golovkin is a nobody that has fought nobody. Quillin is probably a LHW by now.
The division is so weak that even Sam Soliman stood out as a top contender.

Lets be honest here ,the Middleweight division has historically been a big deal for Americans and American fighters. Thats where most of the quality has come from.

Now it aint. Jacobs and Quillin are probably all theyve got there and theyre not tearing it up. Its being dominated from elsewhere.
