    Fat chance of Sturm ever fighting Abraham. He'd rather sqeak by against fighters nobody's heard of and get KOed by non-power punching 154 pounders.

    He still could've ducked him and kept his recognition as lineal champion.

    I know but I imagine that fight would be big in Germany. Sturm is a joke.

    And who have Abraham's fights been against? His last fight was against a LESSER FIGHTER not at middleweight, and the fight before that was a guy about on par with Gary Lockett. Khoren Gevor is underrated, but Abraham should have knocked the snot out of Ayala.

    All signs lead to a unification fight next year. Abraham needed to fight Marquez first, however, or risk getting stripped. Not to mention that Pavlik was a mandatory, as was already mentioned.

    Nobody's ducking anybody here, and you're just sounding like an uninformed dip****.

    Pavlik or Taylor a chump?

    C'mon...how can you even get those name in line with Felix Sturm...

    ...Sturm is the only chump in here - Abraham is the no.1 contender who knows, that he isn't the champ at 160 but is willing to sacrifice his way of backyard defences for the glory, the legacy.

    So just let us hope we see Pavlik vs. Abraham in early 2009 as their last fight at 160...(maybe if Abraham wins, he will have a farewell fight at 160 before moving up).

    I am a huge fan of AA, but not one of the fighters mentioned above is a "sucky champion".

    What's true is that Sturm tries to go AA out of the way which is clever. He hasn't got any weapon against him, AA is a bad matchup. Even Pavlik would be a better matchup for Sturm.

    Pavlik and Taylor are great guys and I think they both would fight AA if their management tell them to.

    I am convinced that AA can win against anybody in both middleweight classes, but there are fighters like Kessler, JC, Taylor who have a good chance to win by decision. Also Pavlik has the chance to win against AA, but I think his offensive style and his defensive flaws are custom-made for the king. If Pavlik changes his style (or strategy) against AA it's very likely that he wins, but I doubt he will.

    Abraham is good but to say Taylor and Pavlik are sucky is bull****.And Lockett was a mandatory not a optional like say Elvin Ayala or Wayne Elcock.What was that about?

    The original poster clearly does not follow boxing. If he did he would know that Pavlik/Abraham already has a tenative January PPV date with HBO. He would also know that Team Pavlik, Top Rank, and all Abraham's people want the fight, and expect to go forward with it.

    And if he really believes that Pavlik fighting a non-title fight out of his division is such a huge problem, he ought to name someone at 160 who was:

    1) Available to fight between mid September and mid October;
    2) Financially viable;
    3) Well known enough for HBO to buy the fight.
    4) Willing to fight Pavlik rather than just talk about fighting Pavlik.

    Name one; I'll wait.

    When AA fought the great Elvin Ayala the rightful mandatory was Fulgencio Zuniga, a guy who might kill Ayala! Somebody pulled some strings, and got him out of it.

    Abraham is as limited as they come. All he is, is a cover up slugger. At least Pavlik has the ABILITY to box.

    Still waiting? Isn't it appalling the lack of knowledge around here. We both get tired posting facts that get ignored. What is really bad when you see this happening by guys that you KNOW have read the stuff in other threads.

    I don't know how you can be a fan of a guy that covers up 2:30 of every three minute round. Makes for some dull boxing matches. The NBA instituted a shot clock. Is it time that boxing institutes a minimum "offensive" punch count? Counters wouldn't be included. Just times a guy gets off first. Make matches with guys that are willing to mix it up.

    Yes, the lack of knowledge gets frustrating, especially when it often seems down right willful.
