Martinez if the man, who should he fight next?

Julio Chavez- I don't care to see it again, Chavez should have to get back in line.

Peter Quillin- Looked good vs. Echols, Hill, Zuniga, Brinkley, Wright, and N'Jikam.

Daniel Geale- Looked good vs. Sturm, Karmazin, and Mundine (LSD12).

Jermain Taylor- I would like to see him beat a good MW convincingly before facing Martinez.

Gennady Golovkin- I'm not sold on this guy yet, too many unknowns on his resume.

Felix Sturm- His best days are behind him.

    Dmitry Pirog- Hasn't beat anybody.

    It doesn't look to good.

Most shoot down the thought of him fighting Andre Ward but if they could fight at 164 Lbs... I don't see a problem with it. Doubt it will ever happen though. I don't blame either fighter.

SMW has plenty of good fighters. SHould he move up or fight a few of them at a catchweight of 164 Lbs? How about fighting a top JMW at 157 Lbs? Who could he fight between 157-164?

Mayweather- It would be a great fight, a meaningful fight.

    Alvarez- Another meaningful fight.

Cotto- It would very entertaining and sell very well.

Froch- #2 at SMW and beating him would be impressive.

Kessler- A win over him still means something.

Bute- Some thought he was #2 for a long time, he's still decent.

Dirrell (both) and Abraham- Beating either one would look goood.

Pavlik- The former MW lineal Champ vs. the current MW lineal Champ, why not?

    Thoughts?

Pirog would **** Quillen up, as would Golovkin.

Nobody at MW stands a chance against Sergio. Floyd is a coward and would not get into the ring with a guy like Sergio. Canelo/Sergio would be cool.

I think quillin would K.O martinez, and I think there are MW's that would beat quillin. These little JMW's are just not big enough to hang with real MW's. PQ is 6'1, walks around at 190+, extremely athletic, very hard puncher, good chin. Ndam is even a decent puncher and his punches were bouncing off quillin like rubber.

 He wouldn't even land a single solid shot on Sergio LOL. He has TERRIBLE footwork, TERRIBLE conditioning and ZERO killer instinct. Who knocks a guy down 6 times, fails to finish AND loses several rounds? The fight was actually pretty damn close despite those knockdowns. Quillin wouldn't even win a round against Sergio, nevermind knocking him out.

JCC Jr is bigger and has more power than Quillin.... Besides, Sergio got careless and threw caution to the wind that round.... Quillin Floored a guy SIX times and STILL couldn't finish him off. Sergio would box circles around him. it wouldn't even be close.

Martinez says he won't fight above 160, and he probably needs to maintain that position. At age 36 adding additional weight would probably cost him in the speed and agility departments, and Sergio without speed and agility would not be pretty.

Martinez claimed he would give KP his rematch anytime. KP can't make 160, and Martinez won't even talk about 164-65. Even with a guarantee that Pavlik would enter the ring weighing less than he did for the first fight, Martinez still won't talk.

Sergio is a legit MW now days, but that is probably his physical limit. He looks like he probably has at least a few good performances in him. I'd advise him to forget the Big Money fight, and stay busy. If he'll do that, money and legacy will probably follow on their own.

At MW, GGG and Quillin are the most deserving, IMO.

But as Martinez is 36, he should go after big fights (Mayweather, Cotto, Canelo).

Serg is good enuf to beat everybody at MW.

But how long can he maintain top form? He in his late 30s, and he'll be comin off some surgeries when he fights next. His reign ain't gonna last too much longer.

I wish he'd just fight what contenders are around and quit worryin about a May fight. He ain't gettin it.

With all the options being thrown around, it's clear the middleweight division is thriving at the present time.

It's a real pity Martinez is injured though.

Quillen ain't extremely athletic. He is somewhat flat footed, and needs to work on his footwork. Quillen isn't better than Danny Jacobs was, when Jacobs got starched by Pirog. Quillen is an exposure waiting to happen. It is why he turned down a fight with Golovkin already. If he was the real deal, they wouldn't match him soft. Watch him get matched softly in his next fight.

N'Dam's 60% stoppage percentage against mostly Euro bums, doesn't point to him being a good puncher.
