The rumor I heard Saturday night was that Hopkins fully intends to fight in mid-January, either against Adamek or Dawson.

Hope he fights Dawson. What if Johnson finishes knocking Dawson out though?

I was wondering the same thing, Farmy.

What if Dawson lost to Johnson and Adamek lost to Cunningham?

That would leave Hopkins without one of his top choices. I am actually quite surprised that Hopkins is going to sit it out until January. He is not getting any younger.

He should just fight Adamek this fall instead. Either that, or he should have fought Dawson (I am 100% convinced Hopkins beats Dawson based on what I have seen from each of their last two fights).

A reliable source did tell me, however, that January is the date of Hopkins next fight and that he wants Adamek or Chad.

I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.

if not Adamek or Dawson then he may end up to fight nobody ... Kessler, Froch and Abraham are already included into the tournament and get to the Jones Jr would not be easy.

Right, and I think he will pick Dawson anyway, cuz Chad has already said he can fight for free unlike Tomek, also American fans would prefer to see Dawson, because he defeated Adamek and generally is considered as a better fighter than Goral (sick people:D). Hopkins may want to get The Ring and IBF belts tho in another division, but imo money will be more meaningful factor here. Bernie sux.

I think beating Adamek does more for his legacy than beating Dawson. Beating Dawson (which I think will be easy for Hopkins) means he just beat another inferior undefeated fighter, whereas beating Adamek gives him the linear cruiserweight title to cap off a long and illustrious career.

But then again, I firmly believe Dawson is an easier match for Hopkins than Adamek, so who knows.

    Cheers for the updates guys.

Good to see Tomasz do exactly what folks expected against Bobby Gunn. I think I even picked the round right...

Look at that! During the walk in for Adamek, you can see my wife & I in the crowd! We were cracking up over that one!

Watch the 4th round with about 1:05 to go...the 1-2 TA hit Gunn with in the corner was a beauty!

According to bokser.org Adamek is moving up to heavyweight and his possible oponents are: Chambers, Barrett, Golota. Only fight with Hopkins can make him stay in cruiserweight.

These rumors are false, I am told.

Adamek's Team intends to start negotiating with Cunningham soon.

Thats got to be correct. Adamek knows people will say the reason he moved to HW is to avoid Cunningham & Adamek would not stand for any BS like that.

He's got plenty of time to fulfill his HW dream. Finish what he started at CW 1st.

Sounds good. I suppose at cruiser, Adamek-Cunningham 2 is the only fight that matters. Hopefully Showtime or HBO will make it a lucrative fight for both.

It does sound like he wll eventually move up to heavyweight. I think it would be a crazy move UNLESS some of the smaller heavyweights start winning the titles. This is one reason why I want Povetkin or Chambers to dethrone Wlad, Haye to beat Valuev; and for Boytsov and Solis Fonte to do well.

If Adamek could be a 3 weight champ that would be a real "pound for pound" achievement.
