yep. goossen does not want to commit to this. however, if they want the HBO dollars, and actually want a main event, they will have to go with adamek. arreola blew his chance with vitali, was out of shape. now he has to fight for his money, his main event satus, rather than being brought in on the paul williams undercards. i hope this fight happens, and have little doubt that adamek will smash this joke.

I think your impression is good. IMO polish american fans that goes to Prudential Center for Adamek's fights aren't really boxing fans like those who post on boxing forums. They are more like Adamek's fans. I think that for them it doesn't really matter if he is facing Steve Cunningham or Bobby Gunn. They want to see successful fellow countryman and it's great occasion for good fun and showing patriotism. I assume you are not related to Poland. That's great that Adamek has some non-polish fans. You are probably the biggest Adamek fan on ESB:good I'm a newbie on ESB and most of my posts were on Golota Express. Unfortunately that thread is dead. I haven't really forgiven Adamek what he did to my boy Golota yet.:| That's why i don't really post much here. But probably after more time i'll become the same Adamek fan as i was before Golota fight. Who knows maybe he will be the first polish hall-of-famer:happy and Golota beating won't look so bad.
Adamek is the most important (partly because he will insipre the most Polish kids to follow in his foot steps), but I get your point. What's up with Proksa these days? Still injury prone?
That's debatable, especially since the last fight. The Golota Express is dead in its tracks (one or two posts a month), while Adamek is turning heads by picking Arreola 3 months after Estrada.
thats cause Golota was and always will be a freak show. the americans love **** like that. actually, who doesn't? lol. they see some guy hitting someone in the nuts and they go all WWE on the sport. and no i dont really think its funny... its quite understandable really. adamek is a boring character. sure his fights are always exciting but so were golota's, difference is adamek is just a boring individual. adamek can go home and play his goral music cd's, go on some talk shows, spend time with his daughters and wife / whatever else he does. golota goes out and punches photographers in the face, impersonates cops, gets in trouble with the law numerous times, gets into car crashs etc... Thats just for starters, golota calls that wednesday. you never hear anything about adameks outside ring life, but for christ sakes golota even had his own special section in newspapers like fakt and superexpress. this guy is just a never ending story, cause overall...even tho hes a huge under achiever, but the guy always had a character and a bad-ass image that not only us poles can enjoy, but even the american communities... the guy is just simply more of a attraction, adamek is not.
the americans like good americans, like andre ward, with his effective if dull style and his silly "son of god" nickname. if you'rea foreigner, and are not notorious, it is hard to be an attraction, and often it seems they even try to take your victory off you (martinez, funeka).
he looks like a sumo wrestler and i hate his complacent attitude. surely an in shape mex-american heavyweight champ would be massive for boxing. but it will never happen. but he is strong, powerful and has a deep amateur background. defiitely a dangerous fight, and adamek will get a lot of credit when he's beaten him down. if arreola's promoter will let adamek anywhere near his boy.
Golota was a foreigner, he was notorious inside and outside the ring, and he was a attraction, theres no disputing that.
I think Haye is a preferrable fight. He should focus on the WBA strap. Arreola is a huge, unneccasary risk, which could foil the entire HW adventure and, in the worst case, end Tomasz's career. Well, this is Adamek we are talking about. His career is full of huge, unneccessary risks. That is why we love to watch his fights.
He didn't lose all of his important fights he won his fair share of good contenders an d pretty much got either robbed or blown out the other times. Doesn't mean he wasn't a good fighter. i never asked if you cared...but neither do i but obviously people did/do. Golota is his day was a raging lunatic inside and outside of the ring, and it made people buy into him and become a fan. Plus when Golota came on to the scene, he came out and whooped the highly regarded best heavyweight in the world, twice. Those 2 fights still hold records and were legendary and still are. Its hard to top such a beating and ass whipping like those fights were, those 2 fights are legendary fights of thier own and theres no disputing that. They see this good looking Polish guy who is a real good boxer, has a bad temper, and unknown mindset and people like that ****. They root for the big guy to finnaly pull it off. Its pretty much was hard not to buy into somthing like that. That guy was always a interesting individual, and he always will be. When Communism finaly broke out, the E. European talent emerged, and Golota was one of them. He pretty much single handedly opened the gates for all the E. European HW fighters in the Bowe fights. He opened the gates for all the Klitshcko's, Adamek's, Jirov's, Mavrovic's etc... that you see today/then. The boxing world saw that these E. Euros were no joke and it was all because of Golota when he whipped the top heavyweight boxer in very brutal fashion. The guy did more than just lost his big fights and not just a character or a good boxer, he changed the stance on boxing for all the Europeans. HW is the glamour division, if Adamek goes out there and whips Arreola's ass he would probably get more and more American fans interested in him, cause CW/LHW aren't appelaing divisions like they used to be when the Holyfields and Jones's were around. HW division, as garbage as it is now, is still glamorous and historic division
And whats more, he didnt fight for one-federation belt (like Ruiz WBA), in every title fight Golota fought for different belt: WBC, IBF, WBA, WBO
