You must get used to this. He had to fight on distance in this fight. In his future fights he will also fight in the distance. Adamek is not Tyson. When he tires his opponent out, then he will go inside. No unnecessary risk.

i think he'll be aggressive - at the right time. for instance, if a big dude like arreola starts to tire, he can land some nice combos before moving away, can fluster the bigger man with aggressive speed.

i think estrada has fooled a lot of ppl. estrada is a spoiler. estrada canot match the workrate of guys like povetkin and adamek. so he covers up effectively. he smothers inside. he throws one shot, after the opponent has finished throwing 4, throws a shot when the opponent is trying to re-set, regroup. he feints, he cuts the ring off, makes the opponent respond - but he doesn't mount a sustained attack. what i'm saying is, he doesn't do enough work to actually win, he just punches at the moment that will annoy the opponent as opposed to working the 3 mins to win the round beyond doubt.

    Ellie Sechbach interviews Adamek.

Actually not a bad job by Ellie, not always the straightforward questions. : )

Gmitruk is out, Ronnie Shields is in.

I'm not pleased with this news.

I think this HURTS Adamek's chances against Arreola.

Yup. 2 months away from the biggest fight of his life is a bad time to change trainers from your life long one to a new guy who didnt even see Adameks fights at HW yet. :-(

    SUCKS.

What do you know about the guy? We can't say much if we don't know him...

    Still I'm afraid you're right.

Here...read about him & what he has to say about Adamek. He's been around along time...even worked with Golota back in '96.

This may be a problem, but I hope not. I do like the fact that he wants TA to drop 10 lbs. so he's faster & won't gas out. They need to work on head movement to prevent all those right hands from reaching their mark. I still think Adamek can out box AND survive Arreola's power.

I think Shields is a good trainer, but Gmitruk works so well with Adamek that I fear this only hurts Adamek's chances.

Sucks that Gmitruk is apparently ill.

We dont know how he'll mesh with anyone else. Gmitruk has been with him for so long. Last little experiment was a disaster. And of course theres the language barrier. Please oh please let that Polish guy with glasses do the interpretations instead of Ziggy, who invents his own advice instead of translating properly. Aside from all this, Shields' pedigree is impecable though and his plan of getting TA down to 210 appeals to me. Let's hope he doesn't try to "reinvent" Adamek the way Buddy tried.
