Miguel Acosta is the dark-horse of the lightweight division that everyone is overlooking. Most people forget how he handled Urbano Antillon like a child and then brutally knocked him out in the ninth round of their fight last year in July 2009. The same Antillon who looked great against Humberto Soto in their exciting fight this December was completely helpless and disarmed against Acosta.

If Brandon Rios thinks he can just walk in and hit Miguel Acosta he has a big surprise coming, he will get taken apart by the astute Venezuelan Acosta. Robert Garcia, Brandon’s trainer had better get advice on a good fight plan because Rios is going to need it. Rios won’t be able to bull rush Acosta, Antillon tried it and paid for it. This is a dangerous fight for Brandon Rios, probably more dangerous than against possible future opponent Humberto Soto who has a more simple and straightforward style than Miguel Acosta.

Bottom line is that if Brandon Rios doesn’t take this fight serious and he and Robert Garcia spend their time horse playing like 24/7 revealed in the Margarito episodes this year, he is going to get knocked out by Miguel Acosta, this guy is no chump.''

 

A bit off topic but I'm sure all us Acosta fans want to know about how Paulus Moses plans to reboud after being slaughtered by Miguel.

FORMER WBA lightweight champion Paulus ‘The Hitman’ Moses is looking for a shot at the title that he relinquished to Venezuelan Miguel Acosta in May last year.

Alternatively, he is looking at fighting for a world title under a different sanctioning body altogether. According to The Hitman’s trainer and promoter, Nestor Tobias, flamboyant international boxing promoter Don King is spearheading negotiations for possible title bouts.
After dethroning Moses, Acosta had hinted that he would grant the former champion a rematch “anywhere in the world” should the opportunity present itself.
Moses made an impressive return to the ring when he defeated Argentina’s Omar Priotti with a fifth-round technical knockout, which may have galvanised his chances of getting a shot at a major title.
“We received an e-mail from Don King Productions informing us that they are trying to arrange a world title fight for ‘Hitman’,” Tobias told The Namibian Sport yesterday.
“We are trying for a rematch but if that does not happen then we can try for the IBO or IBF titles.”
Tobias said the previously undefeated Moses is determined to work his way back to the top.

Pretty much anything Acosta throws with his right is dangerous. Everybody who wants Miguel to win seems to be banking on Rios not preparing well. I expect him to come fully prepared and be defeated. Acosta's just plain better IMO.
