Instead of me just saying "your talking nonsense", I'll ask you to explain to me how Lewis would have put "any version" of Tyson in his place? Here's my take: Some people have said Lewis would have asserted himself straight away against a Peak Tyson, like he did against Andrew Golota. However, Golota was beat before he got in the ring, & Tyson/Golota are completely different in every way. So, let's say Lewis goes to take it to Tyson from the off - surely you can see that he would be outgunned? Tyson hits faster, throws more punches & is more accurate & has much better durability. Second Scenario: Do you really think Lewis would be able to just coast through any round, just jabbing & throwing a few right hands in there like he did against say, David Tua?
Haye would probably stop him rather quickly.... he's just to accurate for Tyson, who was lazy with his head movement and defense. for a stupid ****ing question, you get a stupid ****ing answer....
Dont forget the light heavy weight he smashed either as it seems to be the greatest win ever. ...Tyson fanboys are the worst claiming how he would beat any ATG heavy because he looked great against a bunch of unskilled fighters in the 80's. He was good for the sport and got tons of people interested in the sport though. Its just funny how his prime ended as soon as the competition got better.
All depends, if Foreman is allowed to push as he did with Frazier then he wins handily. That shove by a young Foreman was an underrated weapon. I put opponents off balence and perfectly in position for Forman's punches. But yeah...I favour Foreman too.
Holy, Foreman, Ali and Lewis are all physically stronger than Tyson, which could play a large part in the fights. Clinch **** every time distance gets closed and then start sitting down on punches past midpoint when Mike ran out of steam. Mike was exceptional but had clear weaknesses that could be exposed against certain guys.
What ATG did Holyfield beat? The ancient Foreman, or (older than when Tyson anihalated him) Holmes. He got beaten twice by Bowe, beaten by Moorer and make the legendery Bert Cooper look like Sonny Liston. And hey, I rate Lewis, just dont think he beats Tyson. And hey, dont forget, Bruno was SCHOOLING him before the boom. Mercer won their fight IMO, and he did get one punched by McCall and Rahman. So upon reading that, the James Tillis did ok, v a 19 year old Tyson's a bit of a pish argument aint it, especially when he didnt, he survived, caused a problem or two, but no more than that!
Based on what? and in anycase, strength counts for zip, when speed/power beats you to the punch every time. I think Tyson really batters George and he gets stopped on his stool.
But surely you can accept, that all of them are at real risk of not making it long enough for Tyson to slow down, and at 20/21 Tyson was super conditioned too. Holyfield said that in the Olympic camps the only guy he couldnt hang with in the gym, was Tyson. I give Holyfield very little chance at all v a Peak Tyson, likewise Lewis although he carries much more power. Foreman likewise has huge power and strength, but Tysons too quick and powerful IMO, and Ali? If Ali can time Tyson on the jab, Tyson could be discouraged and Ali does the job. If he cant, and that Tyson was very difficult to hit clean, then for the 1st time Ali has an opponent as quick as himself, possibly quicker.
Based on the fact that Mike got pushed back and controlled in the clinch against nearly everyone he fought. Conversly George pushed most fighters around like ragdolls. Height/reach, timing also come in to landing punches. So does reseting yourself when you are getting thrown around.
I give Mike a good chance against 99% of fighters that ever lived, he had a very unique mixture of power/explosiveness and the toughness to push the fight without getting ****ed up.
Holyfield fought and beat/lost close ones to: Bowe x3 Lewis x2 Foreman Qawi x2 Tyson x2 Mercer Douglas Old Holmes DeLeon And if you take notice he beats some Tyson opponents like Stewart, Douglas, Tillis, Tillman and Holmes, and he does so convincingly, much like Mike Tyson. The only difference is, whereas Tyson went on and fought cocaine addicts like Smith, Biggs, Tubbs, and then fighers like Tucker, Thomas and old as hell Holmes coming off 2 years inactivity. Tysons only really good opponent was Tucker in the 80s and Ruddock in the 90s, fights where he won, and he should be given credit for those wins. Lewis not only beat Ruddock, but he completely trashed him in two rounds. Don't you see the difference in depth between these men? Tyson has far less experience on the very upper elite level than either Lewis or Holyfield, and you've got to realize that simple fact. Now Lewis on the other hand, only ever lost against people he grossly underestimated, and took lightly, people like McCall and Rahman. Granted, he was poleaxed in both fights, but he came back and showed everyone he was the better boxer, simple as. Much like Holyfield, Lewis fought a few Tyson opponents aswell, like Tucker, Ruddock, Bruno and Biggs, and beat them all relatively decisively. Lewis record lacks the depth that Holyfields has, but it should be said that Bowe was outright scared of Lennox and binned the belt in order to avoid him. I think Cus D'Amato always said Foreman would be a stylistic nightmare for someone like Tyson, smaller man coming forward? Foreman could take Tysons best shots, whereas its highly unlikely Tyson would take Foremans biggest punches. Tyson never fought Foreman, Mercer or Lewis in the 90s, and for good reasons. Even old Foreman, he wouldn't be able to back up.
