Instead of criticising him like some moronic ends are doing, let's list out the positives:

    - Gracious in defeat and with a good attitude, he definitely will learn and bounce back.

    - Awesome timing, showed great poise under fire and this was an issue he had shown difficulty with in the past, but did much better against Joe.

    - Great heart, no quit in Kessler.

    - He's an A level fighter who will accomplish a whole lot and give us great fights.

    - His chin is very good, as is his stamina.

    - Handspeed was right there with Joe's.

    - Power is definitley underrated.

    - He's a fantastic human being.

Here's to you Mikkel, thankyou for doing your part in giving us a memorable match up and I can't wait to see you in the ring again dominating some overhyped piece of trash that fools will be high on.:good

Absolutely, Kessler is class all the way.

I really enjoyed this fight, I had picked JC to win by UD, but I didn't want to see either of them lose as I like both of them a lot.

Someone's '0' had to go though, and Calzaghe just proved to be the best SMW out there today.

Kessler is still the 2nd best SMW.

Kessler best weapon is his jab, he was never able to get it going. Calzaghe is a quick southpaw, and nullified his jab and out-worked Kessler. Styles make fights, and Calzaghe had the better tactics. Kessler had no plan B, when his jab wasnt landing to set up the rest of his offensive arsenal.

Let me add he never gave up and gave Calzaghe the toughest fight to date.

    Props to Kessler.

His stocks haven't really fallen imo, more so that Calzaghe's have risen.

He will continue to be a great champion soon enough, just like he was prior to this fight.

Yep Kesslers stock hasn't fallen - although the lack of his two belts are good for the markedprice - and his stock is no where near where it would have been if he had won - but he'll bounch back alright. HBO is already talking Kessler-Taylor and Kessler-Pavlik - so we'll see.

As for Kessler having no plan B and he didn't get his jab going.

Well he didn't get his jab going but I think he did have a plan B - without the jab he still managed to land +100 powershots and give Calzaghe his most competetive fight - he just wasn't good enough last night. Strangely enough Kessler (in my view) came out the best when they where fighting close. We got to see a lot more of Kesslers arsenal - he is much more than a jab-jab-cross fighter - just not enough for Calzaghe last night...

great fighter. put on a competitive fight against someone who had a style advantage over him. he disposes of everyone at 168 save for joe c. stand up boxer-puncher is my favorite style and i always like guys like hearns, arguello etc.... kessler is no different as he excels in it. definitely not to be written off.

ams is kessler in the supernatural class of fighters? he'd dispose of anyone below 168 excluding Calzagheius Rex.

It is hard to land the jab against a soutpaw, especially one as akward and quick as Calzaghe, that totally threw Kessler off IMO. With better tactics, he could acctually make a fight of it, Kessler is very talented.

But tonight he was out-smarted and out-worked. Kessler just needed to let his hands go when he realized his jab wasnt going to land. I beleive Calzaghe threw twice as many punches by compubox!!! He let Calzaghe out-work him, Kessler could of done more.
