Mikkel Kessler is an amazing fighter! He is also getting better fast. This one was his best fight so far. He will rule the division with an iron fist (!!) after China_hand_Joe retires...I want to think of a thing or reason to fault Mikkel, as a person, and I cannot. What a great guy!:happy :happy :happy

Great post - Kessler deserves respect and he'll bounce back from the defeat

I give Kessler tremendous credit for taking this fight. He could have done what Calzaghe did and waste his prime years milking his belts and just step it up when retirement is near. But he choose the toughest opponent and he did well. I juts hope he doesn't pull a Lacy on us.

Mikkel is mentally strong, and I think he will be able to learn from this fight. Now we know the limit for kessler, and his name is Calzaghe. That is not bad at all.

    Bring on Pavlik:D

I have much more respect for Kessler than Ottke. Kessler stood up and took the fight. Ottke never had any intrests of fighting Calzaghe.

Calzaghe took alot critiscm for never fighting him! But I blaim Ottke for that.

He had the balls to go into Calzaghe's backyard in front of 50000 for the most import and biggest fight in the history of boxing in europe.

Umm, he is the next leader of the SMW division if he stays there, he's better than everyone from MW-LHW save for Joe obviously and Chad Dawson, so Joe is done with for Mikkel and Chad is a distinct possibility for the future.

I suppose Lucian Bute will take over? Or Anthony Mundine?:yep

Or even lesser guys like Taylor/Miranda?:yep

So if they won't do it, I am guessing that Mikkel Kessler will be the best in the division.

Yep, classy fella! On the other hand, I think he should move up to LHW. He looked drained and was barely able to make the weight limit. He can be even better at 175lbs.

  14. I admired his heart, a lot of fighters would have called it a night after 7 or 8 rounds when they knew they couldn't win but he kept going:good until the final bell..

He gave Joe a much tougher fight than Lacy did...:deal
