Is a BS moniker and an insult to Bruno. Every fighter he lost to was better than anyone in the HW division today. Bruno would be undisputed champ in today's pitiful HW landscape.
Andy Ruiz would smash Frank Bruno to bits! And gimme a break! This Frank Bruno has losses to the likes of Tim Witherspoon, a guy with 13 losses. Who himself has losses to guys like Jimmy Thunder and Everett Martin, two guys themselves with double digit losses. Can you imagine Anthony Joshua ever losing to utter scrubs like those? I can't! Losing to Andy Ruiz Jr is nowhere near as disgraceful as losing to those scrubs that Bruno lost to.
I knew the boxrec warriors with no knowledge or context would show up in this thread, I just didn't know it would be so quickly. In his prime, Tim Witherspoon (9 of his 13 losses were after age 39) would absolutely beat AJ and would be undisputed HW champion today. Infinitely better boxer than any HW today.
Just look at the average weight from today and compare annual ratings from the 80's... Its disgusting to even compare such an all american trash era with today's all time heaviest SHW era...
Agree with you here. Talk about a hot take, Bruno's resume can't even approach AJ's in terms of wins, and he had way worse losses.
Agreed, Bruno lost to Mike Tyson twice, Lennox Lewis, James "Bone Crusher" Smith, and to Tim Witherspoon. Bruno would of never lost to a fat Mexican plumber like Andy Ruiz and Bruno was never down from little pity pat punches. It took numerous flush punches to put him down.
Lol again with the super heavyweight stuff. Could casual fans like you just stop that crap? There is no such thing as super heavyweights as professionals. From the 70's, 80's,90's, on there have been tons of 6'4 plus inch heavyweights, Nobody ever referred to them as super heavyweights. You can say the heavyweight today are much fatter though.
Except that's just not even remotely true from a factual point of view. Maybe from a "truthiness" point of view, something that you think should be true but isn't. I've done it before, but maybe it's time I did a thread again showing Rings top 10 HW list now and each decade over the last 60 years. It paints a stark picture on both height and weight.
Bruno had a great chin. His problem was that he would back up to the ropes and freeze when he got tagged hard and his opponent just tee'd off
Lol! You talked a bunch of junk about how fat Ruiz is and how he had a chance at the champ who's a physical god but Ruiz smashes him and now this is the worst era in heavyweight history lol! Gimmie a break! Youre full of it and need to stop hating and just give credit. You were wrong, get over it. Oh yeah, Ruiz would beat Bruno and so would DW, AJ,Ortiz and Fury. You can problably throw Usyk in there too.
Right, firstly, NO. One of the most uneducated and clueless posts I've seen in a while.. Bruno lost to "Scrubs"? Are you serious? Bruno lost to Tyson x2, Lennox Lewis, Witherspoon, Bonecrusher Smith. Tyson, Lewis and Witherspoon were world champions when they fought, BoneCrusher went on to become a word champion. SCRUBS? Nobody just smashed Bruno to bits, yes he was beaten and he was stopped but nobody blew him out quickly or easily. Bruno had a great jab, a really heavy ramrod hard jab, Bruno also could seriously punch. Yes Bruno was vunerable and the accusations of him being robotic and stiff were somewhat true but you are doing a serious disservice to Bruno and the lopponents that beat him, some of whom are legends. Bruno fought a very solid version of Tyson in a world title fight, a Tyson that was 35-0 and Bruno got stopped on his feet in the 5th. Bruno fought a very solid version of Lennox Lewis, Lewis was 23-0 and a world champion at the time. Bruno was stopped again, on his feet in the 7th. You mentioned Witherspoon, he was 24-2 when he fought Bruno and a world champion, Bruno bossed the fight but gassed badly late and got stopped. Prior to Bruno, Witherspoon had only lost to Larry Holmes (who was himself 42-0 when he beat Witherspoon) on a SPLIT DECISION. That was Witherspoons 16th Professional Fight. Also before Bruno, Witherspoon also lost to Pinklon Thomas, an Unbeaten WBC Champion, 24-0-1. So before you dismiss the likes of Tyson, Lewis, Witherspoon, Lewis and Smith as "Scrubs" and say with certainty that Ruiz would "smash Bruno to bits" may i suggest you do a little research and watch a few Bruno fights before you slaughter all those fighters and seem to forget Bruno did actually win a WBC world title.
