There is no colleration between modern fighters and days between fights.

Late 80s-early 90s was a lot worse than todays ERA

    Early 90's is very debatable.

This is the top 5 from 1991-1992.

    Evander Holyfield
    Riddick Bowe
    Pre Prison Mike Tyson
    Young Lennox Lewis
    Razer Ruddock

    vs
    Current Wladimir
    Old Vitali
    Alexander Povetkin
    Kubrat Puluv
    David Haye

I can make a case for Wladimir beating Evander (50-50 fight). But young Bowe would have destroyed this version of Vitali.
Young Lewis would have knocked Povetkin's head off.

A case could be made that David Haye or Puluv survives Ruddock though. 50-50
Pre Prison Tyson beats both easily.

Comparing Lewis and Tyson to other boxers to say a certain era is weaker/lazier/whatever is kind of unfair considering how good those two were.

A young Tyson we all know was a monster, and a young Lewis was just as big as a monster and despite what his KO ratio might say, his right hand could change any fight into a KO victory.

    A statistic is a statistic

What premise are you trying to prove with these numbers?

That modern HWs are more active than those in previous eras?

That modern HWs aren't lazier than the past ones.

Except I don't write blogs, I'm too lazy.
I "plagiarize", though I don't earn anything with it so it's ok.

So you don't want to discuss the facts?
I've given the facts, and you simply say "stupid".

You are using sources created by someone that was banned from these boards for being a ****. What kind of reaction do you expect?

I came on this board after the guy was banned, I didn't even know he posted here when I found the blog.

Also he uses a good layout so it is very attractive to just copy the whole thing, he can also speak his mind better out than myself (imo).
And most of the time I just cite the numbers which are facts and have nothing to do with him being a ****.

So him being a **** is not a good excuse.

There is nothing to discuss, its just a long list of numbers without context or comment. I come on ESB to talk boxing, not to chat about how Joe Louis fought every 90.3 days.

Guys like yourself & the author of this blog seem to mistake information with knowledge, as if using a calculator & boxrec are going to lead to a deeper understanding of the sport & its history.

That blog & this thread are a waste of time, I'm outta here
