I think there was a small window around the first Bowe/Holyfield fight where I liked Bowe's chances over Lennox but overall I think Lennox was the better fighter especially once he hooked up with Manny Steward. I really enjoyed the way Bowe fought and have to say he is one if my all time favorite heavyweights to watch but I acknowledge that he really had a short prime and as much as I liked watching him, he was a beatable especially against a guy like Lewis who was so good at sticking to a game plan to win a fight.

I liked Bowe more but more times than not , I think Lewis would win.

 

Personally I like Bowe. Lewis was of course had a much better career, and was consistent for a much longer period in comparison to Bowe whom prime was very short.
But Bowe in that short period demonstrated a much better and well rounded fight game than Lewis ever did. Bowe could do everything in a boxing ring. And demonstrated a much better chin.
Lewis is a greater fighter, and a top ten atg. Bowe prime vs prime stops Lennox Lewis in my opinion.

All this. 1992 Bowe knocks Lewis out. After that, Lewis kicks the bejesus out of him.

 

Bowe obviously wasn't confident in his ability to beat Lewis.

That much is clear.

 

I see-saw on this a fair bit. I think Lewis had the psychological edge, Bowe was more experienced and a bit more polished.
For now, I favour Lewis again. The results seem somewhat lopsided though. I'm sure the fight would be hard-fought and not easily won by either.
