The moment of truth for Ward. Will he rise to the occasion or disgrace the event?

not if you drain him to 168 and make him come to your livingroom where your personal referee allow you to headbutt people

Depends how. Like I said, it will be boring and messy and there will be very little to shout about.

Ward has no cross over appeal and cant sell **** because of the ****ing SOG BS. IF he wants to be religious he should go to church on Sunday and not fight on Saturday. The guy makes up for his lake of drawing power with the networks paying for the fights in the USA. however, to fight for the networks you have to play by their rules. you either make a fight with a top guy they chose that is big in the USA or you have cross-over appeal so that they will put you in there with any stiff and it will sell

He can compensate for his lack of explosiveness and lack of fan friendly with a personality. people say they want an ambassador to the sport but that is really BS what they want is headlines and controversy. TBH, he could sell more if he really took the SOG really over the top and say that his opponent will feel the "hand of god" when we fight or "I will claim their souls for the lord". that would turn him from being disliked to being a real heel and people will pay to see his ass beat (kinda like what PBF). when he fights over seas (lol) he could say that he is on a Crusade . . . Andre give me a call man, we can make millions:D

Ward has Kesslers number regardless, the fight was not very competitive in the end. I know Kessler claims that he was affected by the butts but like Ricky says; "we are not playing tiddly winks in there."

I became a fan of Ricky's after he retired when I started to listen to his quotes . . . he was a funny guy

Yeah, I think so to. But leading with your head almost every time you charge in round after round is a bit too much. And the way Ward tackled Kessler gets overloooked. He did it over and over again every round. The fight was a bizarre moment in boxing history. But I appreciate that Ward keeps it more clean these days.

If Dawson said he can make 168, then why are people making excuses for him already? If Ward wins in a clean fight (no headbutts, illegal tactics), then he deserves all the credit.

Though, I would like to see Ward travel out of his comfort zone to face someone dangerous (Froch in England, Kessler in Denmark, Pascal in Canada).

Well if you're a boxing fan then you will enjoy seeing great skill on display, so yes in this case it should be enjoyable. But I personally don't think Andre Ward is 'special' as most state. I don't think he can punch very well and I don't think he would last in a descent division. Fantastic fighter on the inside but we already know that. Can he show that he's got more? I don't think so.

Cue half of America telling me how stupid I am and how fantastic Andre Ward is in 3...2...1....

You guys don't understand the mind set of Dawson. He only feels comfortable when fighting against old man. Old B-Hop didn't rerally do that bad against Dawson and neither did Tarver. Dawson mentally will already be defeated when entering the ring against Ward.

    Agreed all around.

I'm liking the idea of this fight more by the day.

If I have my facts straight, Dawson came looking for Ward and agreed to the terms, so I don't really get what the bellyaching is about.

I also think both guys are deserving of credit for making a very tough fight that wasn't exactly an imperative at this point. This fight could have waited another year or even 2 before coming together.

bull****.Ward already ducked Bute,Dirrell and Hopkins.he called out Martinez and expected Martinez to make 168.what was out there for him beside Dawson?Magee or Mendy?he doesn't deserve any credit for this,he's draining Dawson and makes him come to his backyard.i've never seen a more protected figther,he's a piece of ****:deal

So far only three voters believe McWards irish roots will be his downfall. And here I though that was a given winner :think
