Perhaps not, but I don't attribute the defeat to the threats made on Marco's niece ahead of the fight either. :good I may as well start somewhere though. I think Marco took a dive, the quicker he got out of the arena, the quicker he could help fight off hoards of baby kidnappers.

 

I don't think the second fight should be forgotten or dismissed, but I think the optimistic approach is to remember the 1st fight when thinking of Duran.

 

Yep and in the rematch the same kidnappers had kidnapped the judges kids and they had to score for the opponent even though MAB won otherwise the kids would be fed to tigers, as was the case against in Morales 1, JMM and Pac2 fights. In the first Pac fight MAB was half dead from smoke inhalation from the nearby forrest fires where he trained and saved the lives of numerous children who were stranded up the burning trees. Against Khan officials scared by Islamic Extremists robbed him. The makes MAB for all intents and purposes undefeated

yeah that could be the one for robinson, the left hook shot was the one for me though, amazing shot that KO'd a guy much stronger and when he was way over the hill. The longcount for dempsey as someone pointed out gets quite a lot of publicity now or maybe getting shoved out of the ring by firpo, but whenever i think of jack it will always be that first round in toledo 1919, no other fight in the ring like it...

 

I like Duran's outburst after the first Leonard fight, instead of embracing him he hits/pushes him away and then throws Arcel off of his shoulder and flies of to give abuse to Benitez. It's a shame that No Mas overshadows that.
