you really can't create a cut like that with your shoulder, maybe if GGG were extremely anorexic, but he doesn't seem to be It was the punch before that. Maybe that pulling motion before the shoulder bump made it worse.

 

Watch him miss with the hook , then pull Chenko towards him by the back of the head so he can't land anything. Thats ring craft but If Ward used that tactic they'd be uproar. Only Ward gets penalized on here for using those type of tactics.

The way you cut is to slash/drag the glove across the skin on bone to cut it , or as your
glove makes contact you twist the glove...Ali's speciality . GGG often turns his gloves down on contact &
he always turns his forearms inwards or outwards to lock (where possible) his arms so its a more rigid connection, in doing so its makeing the glove twist. When have you seen GGG purposely fighting dirty...he's not in Wards league or Floyds come to that!

 

Looked like a grazing punch . Flush shots rarely do any cosmetic damage.

No way. Look at the way Dev's head snaps back. That was for sure closer to the eye than the jaw.


Edit: and the vid above confirms it was pretty much flush on the eye.

Yes, Derevyanchenko got pulled closer but, whatever the impact of his head against GGG’s body was, that’s not enough to get an eyebrow cut.
If he rammed into GGG’s collarbone with enough force for that, Golovkin wouldn’t be able to continue.


Also, whoever ruled this as a headbut is an ass.
