The double standards in boxing have always been entertaining to me. I'll use some examples but I want to point out that none of these guys are my favorite or whatever. I don't have favorite fighters.

You have the big money fighters being called ducks ( So the Floyds, Canelos, Pacquiaos etc) because they won't step up to fight the boogeymen. Certainly these guys have hand picked and controlled almost everything (gloves, weight, ring size, etc) but they get raked for not daring to be great.

Then you have the "monsters" who get a pass and get labelled as avoided fighters. So lets use Benevidez and GGG as examples. Canelo got flack for not fighting GGG and waiting him out, yet he moved up and fought GGG when he (Canelo) was 27 years old. GGG never ever moved up himself and Benevidez is now 28 and still hasn't done it. I'm not saying no one ducked the monsters, just saying these so called monsters could have moved up and dared to be great and in GGGs case, he never did it. People will of course bring up Ward but the details as I understand them leave me a very different opinion than those calling it a duck. Ward moved up and fought Kovalev twice while GGG fought fricking Wade (who?) and Kell Brook. I mean... Come on? Benevidez will hopefully step up next and there are some good fights I'd like to see him in.

A lot of this could be resolved if boxing ever actually cared about itself, but it doesn't and that is why you have some Youtuber getting 50X the payday of truly gifted fighters like Beterbiev, Inoue, etc.

Nobody has ever accused Hagler of double standards,he never moved up and he was still great ! Maybe GGG just liked fighting at his natural weight,I’d say the double standards moniker belongs to the weight bully’s .

I'm still not sure what the double standard is. You seem to be conflating different things.

Hagler had other ATGs fighting in his division
    & thus an ATG Resune.
GGG = not the same thing.
Never dared to be Great pursuit greatness at the next weight up.
just took the Canelo welfare checks. “PeyDey”

I'm not a fan of GGG but to be fair he was a small MW, and his in ring weight was always in the low 170s. Canelo actually was bigger than him in the ring.

Yep, the middleweight champ dared to be great by moving up from 164.5 to 160.

Yep 3G fanboys label ward a duck for clearing out a more stacked division at 168, then moving up to fight Kovalev twice

In contrast GGG was fighting bin men and dragging up kell Brook

One guy dared to be great

Benevidez has fought at 168 then at 175 you absolute donut. Benevidez is waiting for the winner of Beterbiev v Bivol and took the risk of facing Morell.

Boxing fans and critics are hypocrites with double standards.
    is this what you’re saying?

welcome to the sport, I’m afraid it comes with the silly fanbase

I recall a lot of fans here being dismissive of Inoue until very recently. And Inoue earned a lot criticism for his two fights with Donaire.
Now he mainly gets praise due to his more recent accolades.

    This is a funny sport.
