    Like him or not, Monte always works his ass off in the ring, and gives almost everyone a tough fight. He always comes in shape, always tries his hardest to win.

    And just beat Tua's panties off.

    I do feel bad about him being robbed against Tua, but it doesn't change the fact that he's retired.

    Well, retired or no, Barrett's the type of guy who should be appreciated. Did quite a bit with what he had to work with, and scored a few good wins. And should he stay retired than putting Tua on the floorin his final fight is a pretty good way to go it.

    I'm down with an appreciation thread of this sort.

    I met Monte once at club 40/40 NY. He's a standup dude. Albeit a bit small for a heavy. But dude has balls of iron.

    Gotta say, never been a real fan of his, but to not only survive in there against Tua (after the last couple losses he's taken) and then, buy many people's opinion, actually beat him... The man deserves loads of respect for the way he ended his career. CHOOO CHOOOOOOOOO!!! [train rides off into the distance, enveloped in a thick fog]

    That is Right man. I respect his attitude. Monte Fought them all.
    He alaways put a good fight getting laid out or he laid YOU out.

    Monte Barret is NO Bum but he was very good journeyman.
