So it’s official: undefeated Calzaghe will challenge the genius BHop for his The Ring LHW title on April 19 There’s a doubleheader a week before 12 featuring IBO champ Antonio “Legend Killer/weight-loss kills” Tarver vs. IBF champ Clinton Woods with 2004 FOTY Glen Johnson fighting undefeated WBC champ ‘Speedy’ Chad Dawson on the undercard
And now there are talks of a unification bout between hard hitter Danny Green (WBA champ) and undefeated/lineal champ Zsolt Erdei (WBO). The boxrec has a date for Erdei for April 26. Nothing has been made yet but this fight could crown the April of the light heavies…

What a calendar that would be:
    -April 12: Tarver-Woods, Dawson-Johnson
    -April 19: Hopkins-Calzaghe
    -April 26: Green-Erdei

The first six LHWs on The Ring list + SMW#1 Calzaghe + LHW#9 Green go at each other in three weeks!

It would be great if it comes off, but each of Calzaghe, Tarver and Erdei have long histories of pulling out of big fights. I really do hope Green-Erdei happens though. Erdei's hijacked the lineal title for long enough. Green, who seems to be willing to fight anyone anywhere, could help bring some excitement back to the division if he can KO Erdei. If Garay could almost do it, I don't see why Green couldn't.

My picks are Calzaghe, Dawson, Woods, Erdei, all hard-fought decisions but possibly good fights. And certanly big matchups.

The whole division ranking can be massed up in a few day. When was the last time that's happened to a boxing division? :bbb
