Demarco was a little green, but you are right: that win looks better and better.

I still think a skilled counter puncher like JMM would beat Valero.

Valero was an underground phenomenon like Golovkin that was just coming to the big scene. It's hard to guess how good he was going to get but I think personally that he had a crazy potential. Recently I red that he took Josesito Lopez back in day as the sparing partner as he was the only one in the area that was able to give him good work. The other sparing partners were running out of the gym.

P.S. in the De Marco fight he showed great get in, unleash hell get out without getting hit tactic, that showed that he was more than just a crude brawler

It's obvious in hindsight that he was not mentally strong enough to ever be any better than we saw him w/the green De Marco.

probably you are right he was drinking during training camps and so on. It was going to get to him eventually.

p.s. you realize that DeMarco took only two fights after getting his ass beatm before KOing Linares

DeMarco is obviously much improved since the Valero fight, but Valero was a ****ing beast (in every sense of the word), and he absolutely picked DeMarco apart that night.
Like some have already said.. Valero could well have been a mental midget, and thus wouldn't have made on the really big stage, but sadly we'll never know for sure.

Since when does beating a guy like the Demarco makes someone the truth? Valero didnt prove **** in his career the only thing he proved was that he was a mentally sick psychopath.

DeMarco establishing himself as a top lightweight... Valero toyed with him like he was a scrub.

    Valero was a future GOAT.

DeMarco was getting creamed by Linares. He's just lucky Jorge has no chin and no skin.
