...the more I'm convinced it's for training the eyes as well as quick reactions.

It's like studying -- repetition, repetition, repetition. Left hook low, elbow low. Straight right? duck.

It seems to be about being defensively sharp even when on the offense. The body can potentially respond faster than any human brain -- physical memory is accessed more readily. I think that's the point of the piddy-padder pad-routine.

yeah, I always thought the benefit was that after every punch (all short, compact punches), he reverted back to a defensive posture to block incoming flack

Well it's certainly not punching practice, per se.

Man, he just does that **** for the television. He's not gonna show you his real training.

You never trained in your life.

That kind of **** is for the tv, you dumb****.

You think that's what he does everyday.

He goes to the gym, does that bull****, and then goes home.

Floyd trains hard as ****. Does that look hard to you? Sure it has to do with reflexes, but not when he's lookin at the camera. That **** is for TV.

Just like how Floyd doesn't spar on tv and dances a whole lot when he's jump ropin.

You ever rope? Dancin is way easier than stayin on your toes the entire time. He does that to show off to the crowd.

It's obvious he does that to train his reflexes or reactive instincts, I always said so - his body and mind together are an effective punching machine rather than a creative one, just now I was saying the same in another thread concerning his offense against Judah - straight right in repetition, falling in to clinch against the lefty, pressing up his opponent to avoid him from letting his hands go - there is a distinct defensive philosophy behind his own offense.

It's all for show. If Roger changed the pattern in any way, he would knock Floyd upside the head.

    All for show.

Notice that he has done that for every 24/7 episode including the one's with Oscar.

It's a patty cake patty cake routine that he and Roger have memorized. When in the world is Floyd going to throw and land punches 4 inches from his body.

Sorry to contradict yu here, but I saw Otis Grant do it in the Gym and it wasn't open to public and there was no TV camera there, so...

Was he lookin at people or was he lookin at the pads?

    Yeah, okay.

He wasn't showin off, he was concentrating.

And don't bull****. We don't know HALF of Floyd's workout.

He does the same repetitive **** because he doesn't WANT us to have insight into what he does.

You think that's all FLOYD DOES?
