The more I revisit Calzaghe-Kessler..

First, I love it when you sing to me....

But, you can most certainly have good accuracy with bad timing...just as long as you have good mechanics. Go watch the Calzaghe fight. Count how many times he is unable to pull the trigger with Joe WIDE open (noone is gonna mistake Calzaghe for Pernell Whitaker)...now go back and watch any of his other fights...you will see the same trend (showing that it wasnt the opponent, but the weakness).

Accuracy and timing are two entirely different things...often mistaken for two things that go hand in hand.

 

Your man Hopkins losing to Calzaghe in a "legitimate" division will make you feel better?

Well obviously I disagree with the losing part but like I said I won't be drawn on this anymore.

As a side note it's annoying the way people think I must be a Calzaghe detractor because I don't heap praise on him like others & happen to be a fan of Hopkins. I've probably watched far more of his fights than half the fair weather fans on here.

Calzaghe has extreme defence and he is not a wide open foe.

Accuracy and timing goes hand in hand. You NEED timing to be a good accurate puncher. And thats a fact.

 

Im not saying Kessler will not be a good fighter for a long time. In fact, I think the exact opposite....I think he will hold a few belts and be a top guy at 168 for awhile. Which all depends on whether he can stay at that weight for enough time...as I dont really see him beating many of the top LHWs.

Joe is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE FIGHTERS! Been a fan of his since his win over Eubank (my respect for him has GROWN TENFOLD since then). But if you cant see that he is weak defensively then there is no need listen to anything else you have to say.

If they fought?

There is the top 10 mate essentially, Tarver and Jones are shot and Tarver would lose to him in his prime anyway, Jones obviously embarasses him and Calzaghe both though.

Johnson's not beating anybody in Kessler's class.

Diaconu is made for him.

Woods may give him an okay fight, but he'll lose.

Erdei gets embarassed.

Hopkins is about to retire after getting thrashed, but would lose at this point in his own right.

So aside from Dawson, which is 50/50, what LHW's beat Kessler?

 

Kessler is not fast in any way shape or form.
