The more i watch fights, the more i respect Bernard Hopkins.

    If you saw Angulo/Lara, you saw how an amazingly slow plodder like Angulo was able to track down a much quicker fighter in Lara time and time again. And we see this all the time in boxing. A slow plodder being able to track down a much quicker fighter with ease.

    But we all KNOW for a fact that when these slow plodders fight BHop, they don't have a chance in hell. Because Hopkins controls you with his footwork. Always controlling the distance of the fight. Fighting at his pace.

    He's truly special. One of a kind. We will probably never see another like him with his set of skills. It's a shame most of the world don't respect his uniquesness, even amongst hardcore fans who call him boring.

    Well we are acually seeing one fighter that resembles him in many ways as of this moment, Andre ward.

    He also controlls fights with his footwork.

    No doubt. But let's see him taming young, poweful champions at almost 50. When he does that, we can call him special like Hopkins is.

    Well I can't argue with that. Hopkins and his longelivity is truley one of a kind.

    How can anyone disrespect Hopkins?, even his biggest haters must have at least some respect for the man.

    Hopkins for most of his career was grossly under appreciated.

    The fact he is still competing at his age, admittedly picking and choosing his fights, is testament to how good his skill set and boxing brain are. He's also clearly lived the lifestyle of a professional athlete for most of his career, otherwise it would of taken it's toll.

    He isn't exactly a great fighter to watch, and tbh, comes across as a bit of c**k at times. However, like the above poster, even his biggest hater surely has to appreciate what the man has done.

    Carefully picking matches which suits on his style.

    Truely one of a kind.

    I do respect him thou.. winning (paper)titles at his age is special. His ring intelligence must be one of the best ever but the way he fights.:lol: And how he manages to fool people(his fan boys) he is always wanting the biggest challenges..

    Got to respect his accomplishments but he is such a boring fighter to watch, constantly breaking the action, always looking to feign injury and cry like a ***** despite being a dirty fighter himself.

    Terrific statement, Calzaghe had the most brittle hands in boxing and still jumped up weight and beat Hopkins on foreign soil despite corrupt refereeing and 3 American judges.

    Calzaghe basically forced Hopkins to surrender in round 11, with Joe spinning Hopkins round, bending him over and laying pipe on him before a global audience of millions.

    Yep calzage basically made Hopkins quit against Trinidad he was bigger and knew how to use his size. Couldn't even make any adjustment on cal unlike marquez
