Add the timing, awkward positions and moments in which he throws, how he puts those punches in combinations + reflexes = a thing of beauty. To me these are really the kind of skills Hamed and RJJ presented, just in huge body which is of course some limitation.

Watch RJJ commenting on Vitali's skills for HBO in Danny Williams (I think) fight. He knows his ****.

Clearly not. Only if you add his chin to that. He has good defense against someone who comes at him and applies pressure. He took many shots against Gomez that Wlad would have avoided.

... making it a dull fight.

Vitali just likes to fight. Wlad admits that he can't.

He can Box though. And he does much better his brother ever could. Vitalys style is very effective but it has many holes in it, he makes up for that with high punch output and great chin.
Wlad controls the distance perfectly avoiding shots and stopping momentum.
He also have punches that barely visible. they are not intended to do harm but to mealy stop opponent's momentum when moving forward. Add to this his speed and great feet positioning.

Wlad was hit by Peter first Round, with a haymaker left hook. Wlad was hit by Haye. Also by slow Thompson. Also Wlad was 13 time KD. Vitalis Defence is better, even without grabing! And Vitali has a very good footwork too!

Vitali has literally no legacy. None. He will be remembered for getting stopped in his prime by a fat shot Lennox Lewis and quitting vs Chirs Byrd.
