Comon man, I like reading you but this is nonsense that they shouldve stopped the fight in round 1...Lesnar was not severely hurt, never.
If he wasnt defending himself intellgentitly, he would have been knocked out. He was blocking the majority of strikes.

 

Retrospective reasoning. We KNOW what the outcome was - is now. At the point in time when Lesnar was not defending himself that easily could have been a stoppage. Iv seen stoppages of that kind and much like in some of the PRIDE shows the "home" fighter was given what could be inferred as an unfair advantage. The fact that Brock went onto sub Carwin ( Very impressive sub in my eyes mind you considering Brocks clear lack of experience ) is completely academic.

The victory in my eyes is somewhat reminiscent of Kimbo's stoppage win over James Thompson.

 

Iv started many threads on Goldberg. And the thing that pisses me off is Goldberg has been around the UFC for well over a decade. And yet despite being around the sport so long he still knows **** all about MMA. The man is by far the worse colour commentator in all of MMA. Its cringe worthy listening to Rogan repeatedly correct his dumb ass.

It was compelling viewing from start to finish.

 

You mean the better chin To be honest although Brocks chins was never tested prior to yesterday i know his beard is pretty good. I remember him botching a shoot star press and landing on his head in the WWE. He wrestled the rest of the bout with concussion. Brock took some serious hits in his WWE career and always soldiered on.

 

I like Strikeforce's team better. Can the guy say something other than, "and its all over" line everytime a fight is over.

 

Carwin punched himself out. Fundamentally i dont think there are big question marks around his stamina but the fact that he threw so much leather looking for the stoppage must have contributed. At the end of the day their both rookies so the world of mistakes where seeing now is ahrdly surprising. Best in the world though? Not by a long shot.

Goldberg seems like he has memory loss - as you state the guy has been around for a decade yet has grown no insight into the sport. The ring card girls pick up more than he does.

For the time spent watching a sport I would be hard pressed to find a worse commentator in combat sport today.
