If you watched Trinidad fight and you watched De La Hoya everything I can remember before that moment in there career suggested that this fight would be special- It didn’t even flirt with “boring” and yet?
The one I always thought made for a super miserable viewing experience was Ruiz-Oquendo. Always jumps to mind first when I see this type of question.
Not sure if you just mean "world" title fights but I seem to remember the Danny Williams vs Matt Skelton Commonwealth HW title fights are being painfully tedious. Both were so slow entire civilizations rose and fell between their punches.
I had a think about this and I feel Chris Eubank probably holds the record for most successive boring title fights and I say this as a fan of Chris. They all blend into one but his run of Essett, Thornton, Gimenez, Holmes, Close, Amaral, Storey, Stretch, Schommer, Wharton must be some kind of record for staggering tedium? I think his only fights over that period with any moderate interest were Benn and Rocchigiani. Eubank and Hearn were some sort of evil geniuses being able to con TV into continually showing these atrocities.
Maybe I have different perspective on it, but as long as fight is competitive, I rarely find it boring. I went back to watch John Ruiz fights over last couple weeks, Holyfield trilogy I thought was excellent. I saw Byrd vs Williamson and while it wasn't the greatest fight in history, I watched it with interest. Big Rigondeaux fan, but I don't think I'll ever go back to watch his fight agaisnt Joseph Agbeko. Zurdo Ramirez vs Bursak. Those are the type of fights that I find boring, fights that just aren't any competitive and go full 12 rounds with losing fighter hanging in there not doing much and winning fighter unable to put him away.
I enjoyed Eubank vs Wharton I'm surprised you found that boring, that was arguably one of Eubank's best performances after the Watson tragedy.
I am almost certainly mistaken on the Warton fight, I have not seen these fights for a long time. I will rewatch it!
Casimero-Rigo was so bad it was actually comical. But as for the lineal title... Jermain Taylor vs Cory Spinks was a stinker Mayweather vs Baldomir was like watching paint dry Shannon Briggs vs George Foreman absolutely horrible fight and result
