Used to be Don King, or at least he was the most successful corrupt person.

Now that King has been banished to bum fuk Russia, the title for most successful corrupt conman passes by default to the number 2, Bi-Polar Bob Arum.

 

Yeah it's got to be King, hardly anyone who has worked with him has a kind word to say about him.

You're right. I could say he advanced the sport. But there's no way I will. I point directly to Don King's involvement with boxing and to its slow decline. Like any sport that has a visible rotten hierarchy ... it slowly dies ... fans aren't stupid.

There's no doubt he put on the greatest multi-title fight cards there's ever going to be. And he brought together great match ups. But there are some really sketchy ****. Like someone else already said, you never hear just what a good guy Don is. You can go look up the anecdotal evidence from many many great fighters about just how corrupt a man he is. And while you're at it, go look at the stuff proven in a court of law. I can't even be bothered trying to remember all the one's I've read about.

Now to answer the OP's question, I would have to say that the most corrupt person in boxing presently is Al Haymon.

The amount of money he gets his fighters on PRIMETIME television for the mismatches they put on display is appalling and a true testament to how corrupt the sport really is.

Adrien Broner should not be making over 1 million dollars for fighting the Molina's of the world, but rest assure he does.

People blame alot or the corruption over the years on Don King, but it goes to show today that boxing even without King is as corrupt as it ever was.
Boxing is just one of those judged sports that will always be played by politics.
If you're a fan, you just have to adjust yourself to enjoy the fighters and not so much who gets their hands officially raised.

Btw, the most corrupt and dishonest man in boxing even during Don Kings heyday has always been Bob Arum.
Arum is a convicted fight briber and fixer and thats a fact and not heresay.
