With modern day weight cutting, early in his career he could maybe make Welter or even super lightweight and I'd definitely imagine him winning a title in those divisions.

Same goes for 154, 160, 168, 175, and cruiser.
I could see him beating a Stiverne or Martin to win a title at heavyweight aswell.

So I think he'd basically be a greater version of Roy Jones Jr.

Charles was a 160-pound amateur at 17! If we take it at your premise, you would have to believe Charles was a smaller man compared to Errol Spence- someone who never once weighed 140 as a pro, and consistently campaigned at 152 throughout his amateur career.

Reach is not a good indication of size.

 

Spence is a big welterweight. So a 30 something year old Spence being around the same size as a 20 year old Charles, who eventually matured out of the weight, isnt all that hard to fathom.

 

I think it's close but, I would say yes he was slightly better than Jones Jr in his prime.

 

This is wrong. Spence couldn't make 140 at any point in his adult life.
At 17, Charles was already 160 pounds, while Spence was at 152.
At 28, when Spence was 156 on the night against Ocampo, Ezzard Charles was heavyweight champion of the world.

 

Charles at 20 years old was still having to cut down to MW. He filled during military labour and so stayed around LHW - although preferred to come in a few pounds under the limit. Spence's highest in ring weight is probably about 166, which Charles was at 21 years old.

Charles' size is far more comparable to GGG's than it is Spence's.

 

He's too big to make welter, he'd look like an anemic person at that weight.

He'd still start at MW.
