...is that Dirrell was robbed of a shutout and that AA's most delusional fans will keep on claiming he should be undefeated, therefore diminishing Dirrell's accomplishment.
...is the way that it ended. Some fans will support their boy, no matter what, that really shouldn't be disappointing, its just a fact. That being said I wish it went 12 and Andre got the decision, but if it went the full 12 that wouldn't be a guarantee.
robbed? if dirrell had the HEART to stand up after the shot and finish the fight. you dont make grimaces when your "knocked out".
If that illegal punch had not happened, whether Dirrell was hurt or not, Dirrell would have in all likelihood gone on to pick up a UD over Abraham. If that illegal punch had not happened, Dirrell would be getting a lot more praise for his performance today. I really don't think he helped himself. Although when punched on the ground and defenseless will hurt a lot more than a punch you are prepared for, I think Dirrell did milk it. He was tiring and maybe thought he could get a minute or so rest, just like when there is a low blow in a bout. I don't think he thought the ref would have disqualified Abraham. Even so, Abraham should not have thrown that punch!
Dirrell was on his way to a 7-5 decision. Maybe 8-4. Judging from the 10th there was a decent chance he was gonna get KTFO or at the very least decked in those final rounds. Nowhere near a shutout.
