The most disappointing thing is he could've won.

This fight was no less closer than say Froch vs Dirrel (someone actually landed a punch in this one too), boxing is an arse sometimes.

Yep, that worked out to plan. It must be a source of massive disapointment for Haye that he negated what people would have considered 2 of his biggest obstacles in the fight and still lost with a whimper. The jab was largely controlled, of course some sneaked through but considering how dominant it usually was it was largely dealt with okay. And he held a few decent punches without falling over, christ he wasn't even hurt. Klitschko was hurt the most in the fight. He's going to have big regrets over this one I'm sure. Ah well, Caballero/Barros soon.

It's quite pathetic this was the biggest fight since Lewis Vitali or Lewis Tyson...such a damp ****ing squib.

Haye threw is away. It's obvious he's the better fighter, he just happened to lose decisively, but not in the way the rest lost decisively. It was different, he could have done it, just didn't happen.

Agree completely, Haye laid down and just became another victim to the Klitschko jab. He didn't try and "decapitate" Wlad early and I think he bottled it when he realised how good Wlad actually was, but still, he barely threw the right hand at all. So much for "We're gonna take Klitschko's jab away" "I'm going to get close to Wlad and land my punches" he did neither, he ran and didn't counter punch, he was doomed before he stepped into the ring.

Had he gone in there trying to do what he promised, KOing Wlad early and ended up getting KO'd himself, I could have accepted that.

The better fighter won, it was a domination, but the fight shouldn't have been the mismatch that it looked like. Haye had the tools to beat Wlad, he just didn't use them, the gameplan was shockingly bad.

    Because Wlad wouldn't let him.

His attempts to land it though were hilarious= Close Eyes. Swing. Hope to hit something. "It hit Wlad's arm ref, can you deduct a point from him?"--or-- finding himself flopping on the floor like some drunk.

I also believe he had the tools to do it, or at least come close, and the glimpses that implied that made it so much worse to watch the long stretches of inactivity.

But I guess he just didn't have it in him. As you say, the toe tale may have had some truth to it, but it just wasn't ****ing enough to justify that performance.

Haye didn't even come close to winning, he won 2 maybe 3 rounds at most.

Wlad hardly skated any of the rounds.

If one say's Wlad won every round, it's only by two or three punches at most.

All joking aside, I remember once breaking my big toe and I couldn't play football for about 4 months. No one quite believed how dilapidating it was, but I seriously couldn't do any kind of sport. That's not an excuse for Haye, but from personal experience I know how a broken toe can impact more than one could imagine, folk think it's just a joke. Still, no doubt Haye had pain killers for it etc.

If you were generous to Haye you would give him two rounds of the fight.

To say he "could have won" is just blind patriotism at its best.

    Haye was completely out classed.

If he had engaged more and left himself more open, he would have taken a beating.

    I scored it 117-110.

Look, I'm not saying he could've outpointed him. But he could've knocked him out. Froch and McGuigan said that he needed to pressure Klitschko and start the fight quickly. He didn't do that. He elected to box and it was pathetic. Same display as always from both men and it was horrifying. Klitschko still does not like pressure and Haye either overthought it or... I don't know. It was just a stupid gameplan altogether. Do nothing and just lunge at him once or twice a round.

And if he'd have thrown more and took a beating? At least he would've went out on his shield. At least we would've found something out.

I don't think either fighter really dominated and you can tell that in the way Manny Steward was going ape and Vitali's worried look for much of the fight.

I won money on Wlad, didn't really wish for Haye to win, but I don't think Haye did as badly as some folk are making out.

Still, it would have been nice to see him really go for it.
