    That is Carl Froch, of course. Been calling out Calzaghe again ffs. Prime Calzaghe and prime Froch is an easy call. Froch struggled with movement and Joe could fight at pace all night - wide points decision for Joe.

    For an accomplished world champion, Froch's insecurity is mind boggling. He dwells on wins like other fighters dwell on losses.

    Calzaghe's reply was unsurprisingly classy:

    That's the difference between an insecure man and a man content with his achievements. All throughout Froch's career he was insecure and he's not getting any better. For such a tough fighter, he's a very sensitive boy.

    I thought this thread was a question. I was going to reply with 1 word... Froch. I think that says it all. As Calzaghe says most know what would have happened.

    The less said about him the better. Fair play to him for his great achievements but I just don’t see the great jab and decent boxing skills many say he has. I may be wrong but I see a domestic level man, with a chin out of this world that carried him very far.

    Yeah, I was coming to post Froch as well. It's kind of endearing if you don't take it too seriously.

    Agree. The fundamentals were poor but the chin, gas tank, toughness and will to win were elite. He could bang a bit too. Before anyone starts, Abraham was a middleweight. Easily outboxed by a decent big SMW.

    Agree about Froch mate. As for Abraham he lost to Paul Smith and Eubank albeit he was past it by them fights.

    I would expect the fight between The Pride of Wales and the Nottingham Nose to end the same way as Fury v Chisora 2.

    Froch acheived a lot, did himself proud in the super six I dont know why he so held up on the calzaghe

    Joe's nearly 50 and clearly enjoying life after his boxing career.

    For Froch to call him out in the crass way he did is just absolutely tragic.

    Carl's basically saying Joe's nearly 50 and put on some timber, I reckon I could take him now...

    Pathetic, insecure and ultimately reveals Froch's inferiority complex regarding the Welsh legend.

    Epic fail.

    Not just Calzaghe.... Groves as well! Strange man.

    I agree, although I think he lost to Dirrell in that and then just like post Groves 1 was classless. Never liked him after the Dirrell fight.

    Another one thats trying to stay relevant whilst there is no boxing going on

    That would have been a cracking fight back in the day to be fair
    Joe on points if push come to shove but Carl was an animal if motivated
    Look at the Bute fight as a perfect example

    Look at the Andre Ward fight - no lack of effort but could not get near him and would be the same with Calzaghe at his peak.

    Calzaghe was one of our greatest ever and that was fighting nearly all his career with busted hands.
