Exactly. Now cut the crap that he used any illegal wraps. He beat Cotto fair and square the first time. Cotto fought stupid by trying to go toe to toe with a guy with an atg chin. He kept his head over is front foot all night eating uppercuts like Dan Rafael eats anything in sight. Cotto got hit more times in that fight than in any other previous fights. The CSAC screwed up the Mosley fight from the jump, that’s why he wasn’t banned. CSAC would never admit to their incompetence. So they cowardly backed themselves into a corner to have to do something.

I have the same answer as you. Povetkin is my favorite fighter, and it meant a lot to me, I had started to tear up a little because he was getting beaten so badly and I knew if he lost it was probably retirement time. Then he KOd Whyte beautifully, revived his reputation in the boxing community, and made my week. I’ll never forget it.

LOL The Cotto fight had nothing to do with why Margarito got suspended for loaded gloves. Fanboys try so hard to come up with excuses. It just doesn't add up to me. You expect me to believe that Capitillo used old wraps by accident and didn't know it? You expect me to believe that Margarito did not notice old wraps were being used?
You expect me to believe that a veteran trainer, on the biggest fight of his guys career, was not prepared?
You expect me to believe that the first time Capitillo made that mistake, Richardson decided to lie about seeing plaster? What are the chances?
Why would the commission suspend Margarito if there wasn't, at minimum, something suspicious going on?

Why didn’t they ban him for life then?

If I had to guess. Probably because he was never caught using loaded gloves in a fight. He was caught before he went into the ring. Again, only a guess.

3 moments come instantly to mind

Lewis vs Tyson - The biggest HW fight of my life time. Loved see Tyson getting brutally KO'ed

AJ vs Wlad - The biggest HW fight since and best and most entertaining HW championship fight. Watched it with my farther and best mate in a packed but little pub which had a great atompshere.

It was a joke really. I can remember one of the commentators saying it was this fight that solidified Lewis as "one of the best ever".... my ass.

Yes because beating 2000's Mike Tyson is anywhere near the achievement it would have been if he'd been fighting prime Tyson.

LOL Mike Tyson was gone after 2 rounds in that fight. His head movement was non-existent.

Not hating on you for your choice, it just brought up annoyance in me to see some people thinking it should reflect very negatively on tyson or positively on Lewis. It was big because of the names, but there was no real fight there. After the first round, Tyson just sat there and took jabs.

Tyson was finished well before that point.

I still think this fight reflects positively on Lewis and negatively on Tyson. No doubting Tyson wasn't his elite standard that he was pre- prison but was without a doubt still still a world level fighter which he proved with wins over Bruno, Botha Savarese and Golota on his return.

Also the American boxers/ media where also making out Tyson was the favourite (which I and many others disagreed with). If I recall correctly it was Foreman commentating that stated Lewis was greatest HW of all time because of it.

The wraps had traces of calcium and sulfur. Now, I know you're gonna come back with hand lotion and sweat. Let me stop you right there. The only thing allowed on wraps are gauze and tape, period!
Perhaps Capitillo made a huge mistake in using old wraps that had sweat and lotion on them. You honestly think the commission is going to let them slide?
Somethings need to be straightened out. It seems this has been a one way conversation. You ask questions and I answer. So let me ask some questions and you answer.
    1) how did Capitillo and Margarito not know old wraps were being used?
    2) If they knew the wraps were old, why didn't they discard the old ones and get new wraps?
    3) If they didn't have access to new wraps, how then were they able to still fight?
    4) Do you honestly believe Capitillo wasn't prepared for Margarito's biggest fight?
    5) Do you realize the odds that wrong wraps were used, by accident, the same fight Richardson claims the inserts are unusually hard?
If you can give me credible answers to these questions, I might rethink my position on the matter. I'm pretty sure you can't.

The frank burno fights were in 89 and 96. Lewis was just before his final two defeats that ended his career, time period was 2002-2005.

No offence, I just consider it non-comparable.

Ali freaking out the world by making the undefeated, seemingly invincible George Foreman look like a big, goofy, Jethro stumblebum before he knocked him out.
