Tokyo Douglas is hard to beat for me, tho aside from that the following would be my top ten (chronological order):-

    • 1980 - Marvin Hagler demolishes Alan Minter in the UK - my earliest boxing recollection (i was 6 years old)
    • 1985 - Barry McGuigan beats Eusebio Pedroza to become featherweight champion
    • 1990 - Benn vs Eubank I - this was massive in the UK, and it lived up to all the hype.
    • 1994 - Roy Jones Jr vs James Toney. Untoucahble Jones at his best here. Jaw dropping stuff.
    • 1997 - Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield, memorable for all the wrong reasons, Evander gave Mike a right earful that night...
    • 2001 - Bernard Hopkins vs Tito - maybe not such a big shock to more astute boxing fans, but it was still a big upset.
    • 2006 - Joe Calzaghe vs Jeff Lacy - maybe most one-sided non-stoppage loss I can remember, and Calzaghe with one of the best post-war performances by any british fighter. Roy from Toney vs this Calz anyone? :eatingburger
    • 2008 - Manny Pacquaio vs Oscar De La Hoya - nearly everyone expected to Oscar destroy Pac, but it was the other way round. Awesome stuff!
    • 2012 - Juan Manuel Marquez vs Pacman - KO6. Nuff said, holy moly.
    • 2013 - Tim Bradley vs Ruslan Provodnikov. This was just brutal. Both were crazy hard in that fight.

I think anything past that is fairly recent to me to not really be in my realm as a 'memorable moment - not quite yet, tho obviously there have been plenty of belters since then.

In terms of actual moments, wow. So many.

MAB slamming Hamed's head into the turnbuckle
Hearns knocking down SRL in the rematch
    Tyson KO of Holmes
Pretty much any Roy Jones fight from 1994-98

I was 4 years old when Hagler beat Minter, the fight introduced me to boxing and racism.

Yes it was heavily featured in the news and the media at the time, and although institutionalised racism sadly still exists, things have come a long way since then. I was too young at the time to really understand much, other than the guy who won was somehow Marvelous. That always stuck with me.

Not the finest moment in UK boxing history - as I understand it due to Minters comment, the National Front and like-minded bigots infiltrated the fight and caused most of the trouble. But the UK mainstream was not much better at the time when you look at some of the TV programmes/characters - Alf Garnett, Mind Your Language (appalling), Love Thy Neighbour etc etc - given how UK history (empire, Raj etc) it's easy to see where it came from, but makes it no less shameful.

1964. Ali - Liston 1. That fight cemented the view that styles make fights forever in my mind.

I sat ringside as Ray Mercer unloaded pure brutality and ate Tommy Morrison’s soul.

    I was thirteen.

Khan-Prescott was pretty wild. Absolutely thought it was going to be another KO win for Khan.

When Hatton got knocked out by Mayweather, the first proper fight I got into.

More recent moments include Pacquiao-Mayweather stepping in the ring together, Fury getting up from the Wilder knockdown and Rigondeuax beating Donaire.
