The most outrageous results in World Championship Boxing....

I'll kick off with the scandalous scoring of Evander Holyfield v Lennox Lewis I, at MSG in 1999.

By my reckoning, even the most generous of judges could not give Evander more than 3 rounds, with maybe at best 3 even.

Working on a '10 point must' system, that would result in a points tally of 117-114 in favour of Lewis.

However, the scoring of judges Christodoulou;116-113 (fair enough):thumbsup O'Connell;115-115(what fight were you watching, Larry?!) :nonoand that of Eugenia Williams;113-115 in favour of Holyfield:nutcaseresulted in one of the most disgraceful spectacles in the history of World Title boxing scoring, IMO.

The appalling standard of judging by Williams (and to a lesser degree, O'Connell) should mean that she should be getting out of jail round about now - how the thousands of passionate Brits in attendance managed to contain their anger without going on a violent, spleen venting rampage is a mystery to this day - riots have been caused by lesser controversies.

In truth, Holyfield has never beaten a 'World Class' operator fair and square since possibly Michael Moorer 2 years before this bout.(Ruiz isn't world class IMO, and Rahman, who probably was, was beaten via the old Evander butting routine, which had so incensed Iron Mike....)

Which makes the fact that he's still plying his trade today all the sadder.

To point out a totally ****wit judge of recent times I'll give you Doug Tucker, who had Jose Navarro pitching a shutout 120-108 against Cristian Mijares.

I don't have that much of a problem with the judges in that fight to be honest; it was more the ref who ****ed Reid over; I mean warning a fighter for punching his opponent in the face is a bit extreme.

The scoring was a bit dodgy, but not Lewis-Holyfield dodgy. It was the ref that ****ed Reid in that fight.

The reffing was worse than the judging.

    And that is saying something.
