Recently it has been the likes of lacy and khan.

Those who don't know boxing really do overrate the likes of marciano and tyson.

And those who don't know boxing but think they do underrate ali - "he has 5 losses and marciano didn't lose ever, so its an easy win for marciano" etc.

 I just knew I`d see slappy Joe on this thread before I even opened it.

Kelly Pavlik most be near the top.
The publicity he got after he beat JT was crazy, anyone would think he was just elected as President of the US.

Fighting 200 times over a career you arent always going to be able to fight guys with pretty records...Most of those fights were just tune ups or stay busy fights..when you are averaging 9-10 fights a year you are going to run out of opponents at some point. If any fighter was doing that today they would be fighting a similar calibre of opponant in between the harder ones..probably even a lower calibre. Also boxrec is a great site but not the gospel..a lot of those records would be incomplete, boxrec editors admit as much all the time.

When he fought meaningful fights he fought the best and cleaned out one of the strongest middleweights eras ever.

Watching him on film you can see how amazing he is...You will probably never see the complete package like that anywhere else.

I cant see how he can be outside the top3 alltime...#1 is fine.

    Who you got at #1?

James Toney r u kidding me! The guy has one three championships in three different weight class. Now granted he's tarnished some of his own legacy with his lazy training habits, but when he's on, he's on. Check the Iran Barkley fight. It'll change ur opinion.
