    ricky hatton without a doubt
because the guy is supposed to be an unstoppable beast at 140 pounds but as soon as this great boxer put 7 pounds on he gets batterd on one occasion and scrapes a win against a champion (which to be honest he lost realy because he did not do enough against the champion but lets leave that subject in the closet)

so this amazing fighter becomes **** gate keeper level basicaly as soon as he puts 7 pounds on to face the other p4p guys

he has never looked amazing since the kostya fight, which i believe was his prime
he is still a big force in this industry for 1 reason becasue he has an amazing fan base that all add up to one thing $$$$$$$$ baby and thats all it is

(apart from kostya and mayweather which he got batterd by, his opponents are very questionable
considering most people have him in THERE P4P LISTS!!!)

He also outweighed robinson by 16 pounds in the fight he won, he is a great fighter, top 10 middle of all time IMO but i've seen his name in some people all time top 10 p4p so he does get overrated at times, and he never fought everyone, charley burley for instance:bbb

So you reckon he no1 p4p alltime?

Thats cool if you do..he is in the top tier of fighters that you make an arguement for any of them being no1, depending on what criteria you put more emphasis on.

But to be fair if you are going to fault Robinson on his opposition between meaningful fights then surely Joe can be faulted aswell...Some of his opponents just werent that good or they were guys that were good but were past it. His record is as solid as anyones at the weight but like Robinson he has some weaker names on there aswell. I dont feel it should count against either of them that much, for it is their most important wins that count the most.

I also think in a H2H sense Robinson does not get beaten at welter and very few beat him at 160..at least in a series. That may also translate to he does not get beaten by most if not all the greats from the moden 154 division.

There are a few I would confidently pick over Louis however.

I'm almost sure that you haven't even seen nearly half the amount of Joe Calzaghe fights needed to state that he was and is the most over rated fighter ever

Listing all the names off boxrec and typing time after time that he only slaps his way to victory over OAPs is the sort of repetetive nonsense that grows tired

Give people 5 legitimate reasons that Calzaghe out of every boxer to have ever lived is the most over rated???

Larry Holmes - Not bad but not as good as some remember him

    Tommy Morrison - No chin

    Gerry Cooney - Drunk

Audley Harrison - Star in his own mind

Jeff Lacy - The next Tyson?

Jermain Taylor has fought the best fighters, and proven that he is no fake. Definitely not overrated.

I try not to argue with some of these guys but they seem to be so clueless that it just annoys me

    I place Robinson around 5th-10th.
ahead of Robinson I easily place, in no particular order.

    Ray Leonard
    Joe Louis
    Benny Leonard
Jimmy Wilde <---- angry that 95% of people under the age of 25 don't know this guy. Wiki him dammit!!!!!

Robinson is an ATG, top 10 no problem. I just can't see how anybody can put him ahead of those guys.

Thats the great thing about a topic like this. It could be debated all night.

I really cant see an arguement for Leonard being ahead of Robinson, especially easily. He has probably the best 4 wins in history but his longevity and overall resume just isnt deep enough IMO...I also think Robinson would beat him in a H2H fight.

I am familiar with Wilde..He was a great fighter, and epitomizes the term p4p considering the weight he gave away to most of his opponants..But I cant justify him being over Robinson either, as he just doesnt have the top shelf wins..I probably dont know enough about his opposition either but I rank him 16th all time and many were telling me that is already a bit high. Again a guy who has a lot of padding to get to 137 wins..If you are going to mark down Robinson for that then surely Wilde deserves the same treatment.

Ive got Leonard at no6...no doubting this guy, he was amazing and his record is outstanding. Again I dont consider him greater for various reasons but he is much more reasonable then the other two IMO..I actually dont have a problem with someone having him over Ray but it would have to be within a 2-3 spots at the very most.

Some people revere Robinson a bit to much..But that doesnt mean he isnt a reasonable choice for the no1 p4p alltime fighter and at least a lock for top5.

Not the most overrated, but I always felt Shane Mosley has been hugely overrated. After his DLH win 9 years ago his resume has been rather weak and as far as a year or two ago I saw him in some P4P lists.
