Choose a single fighter from minimum to heavy who you feel is the most overrated of all time. Elaboration wouldn't hurt either.

Especially curious on peoples opinions on fighters middleweight and below.

Probably RJJ middle-lightheavy because a lot of this generation think he is god, when they know next to nothing about past fighters.

A lot of my countryman consider Kostya Tszyu untouchable at 140, which put simply is laughable.

Allways thought B Hop slightly overated ,because in my view his opposition was not that stiff, but his longevity ,close fight with Calzaghe and tremendous win over Pavlik, means I have to concede he is worthy of the praise heaped on him. Overated ? Ismael Laguna, flash but little substance. Pancho Villa caught a great Champ at the right time ,but that is the norm for boxing, Nazeem Hamed, terrifc puncher ,with poor footwork threw many punches while off balance ,dodgy chin, and was schooled by a smaller man.Salvador Sanchez ,it may be heresy but I think he gets a bit too much kudos, owing to the fact he died so tragically young, undeniably great but he never unified the division ,and his best wins were over a green challenger and men coming up. Terry Norris ,ast hands ,good punch less than durable with an average resume.Hector camacho ,some serious talent in hs reflexes and legs but needed a heart transplant.Ditto Howard Davis.

Certainly this week a Mr B Hopkins is the most overrated Middleweight of all-time. Which is ironic in that for the last 10 years he may just of been the most underrated.;)

I do wonder what would happen if his age catches up with him and he is blown away in his next bout? I guess peer pressure would make many claim he was a bum ala Michael Spinks.

Heavyweight: Jack Dempsey (myth over substance)
Welterweight: Floyd Mayweather Jr (still very good fighter mind you)

When was Hamed knocked out or hurt? He had his flaws but his chin was not one of them.

    Sanchez and Kelly arguably.

I would definitely not say his chin was dodgy though. He could take a good hit.

I wouldnt say he was a much bigger featherweight than MAB by any means aswell.

He was put down numerous times and hurt by Kelley and Sanchez ,imo. When he missed a punch he was all over the place ,compare his mo with a guy like Hagler who was allways in a position to throw a follow up punch.Hamed had speed ,great reflexes ,at the staart of his career and tremendous power emananting from those stubby legs ,but he lacked some fundamentals, a typical Ingle fighter.
