This:good Roy is underrated if anything, due to his losses later in his career. Mayweather gets a lot of hate and loses just about any hypothetical matchup with a past fighter, against guys he's heads above skill wise. Marciano had a very decent resume and is undefeated, and I've never seen him rated all that high. Hopkins, a very good crafty fighter (not taking anything away from him) gets virtually no criticism, and lost against the best fighters he's faced, aside from smaller men like Hoya and Tito.
went on a trip to receive the bwaa fighter of the decade award about a week ago. Don't know if he already got back in the philippines. Why?
marciano is way before my time so not knowing enough about him I excluded him from my options. That left me with Bhop.
Can't comment on Rocky. For me it's either: Hopkins (for reasons already given) or Roy. Don't get me wrong they're both great. Roy is the best natural talent that I've seen. But what makes me call him overrated (probably only on this board, he's underrated with Bert Sugar) is that when fantasy matchups are made (for instance Prime Roy vs. Prime Calzaghe, or Prime Roy vs. Dawson) there are a large number of people who say there is no way possible Roy would lose or even lose a single round (which to me seems like an exaggeration, even taking the Toney domination into account).
if we go by how people think fighters would do in h2h matchups, Floyd is the most overrated fighter of these 4 by far.
