Joshua is the only fighter in the uk who would sell out any arena. Fury maybe would now but his prices are too high for wlad rematch. Kell Brook, Bellew, Khan and maybe Eubank for nationwide appeal after those. lots of popular locals like Warrington and Crolloa bit wouldnt sell much outside their citys
United Kingdom is a genuine Boxing Kingdom. I despise many issues related UK, but they are true sporting nation (and boxing of course).
I don't think that Joshua is the only one...What about David Haye, he sold everything fighting nobody... twice...Imagine Haye vs Wilder or Povetkin...Wembley
Completely forgot about Haye. Haven't even bothered watching his last 2 so he is irrelevant to me but you are right.
I can remember days when I was a little child watching Ali, Fraizer and Foreman. They were enormous popular, many old and illiterate granies could recognize them (and they had never before seen black person - nothing with racisam, of course). Nowadays, Klitschko brothers are pretty recognizable in my country and region, but literally noone boxer is popular.
Maybe Naoya Inoue. The Kameda brothers are also pretty popular although I think only one of them is active now.
Ireland:Andy Lee...although Irish pro boxing is going through a little lull right now....waiting for the next big star. Frampton does get overlooked a bit because hes from the North. UK....Joshua?
in Canada it was Bute by far. whoever followed the QC boxing scene closely knows what I'm talking about. Nowadays there's a passing of the torch in canadian boxing and very good fighters as Pascal, Adonis, Bute will be replaced soon by Butler , Custio Clayton and Erik Bazyniam just to name a few. Arthur Beterbiev also
It's true outside of Montreal no one has any idea who these guys are. Even my friends who are casual boxing fans and love combat sports (mma) know who these guys are
