You don't have a ****ing clue though, in fairness This would happen in many countries across the world. It is not supposed to be a dig at America, it's more support for our fighter, although it's obviously over the top Our anthem gets booed in every single country we visit, in other sports. It's just a cultural difference, we don't hold anthems in such high regard in Europe, and it's really not anything out of the ordinary to see an anthem booed
actually i think the phrase "you don't have a ****ing clue" followed by a lack of supporting argument, doesn't really qualify as "fair".
Yet again britain full of hooligans? This is really getting boring I know we have a bad reputation and we have tried to put it right but u still get the numptys were ever u go. Oh Yeah Hooligans- This is to my american friends who think hooliganism is a british problem go to turkey Taskin square oh yeah and the bridge were roma fans come out and slash u with a knife like they did to my friend and he gets banned from going to away games for defending himself. I ain't a UTD fan either but their sentences were a disgrace and the roma fans who did it can just walk about larger than life.
dude, chill. i'm only responding to tffp's ridiculous nationalistic statement with another one, nobody said that hooliganism was a exclusively a british problem. it's more like a soccer problem.
Fair enough but because the hatton folllowing is quite rowdy people automatically assume it is down to hooliganism and its not that what gets on my nerves.
understandably so, but then you can surely understand why it is irritating to me to see continual and loud insulting of america by many europeans (and i'm not saying all europeans) in strange contexts.
actually in my experience the well documented "ignorance" of americans keeps them from knowing or caring enough to become nationalistic talking heads. all the people i know are interested in the skills of the fighter, not where they happened to be born.
That is a great point but I know i am english unfortunately i could not go but my dad did and we both forget nationalistic feelings and thought hatton was going to do it. But Like my dad said he left it all in the Gym I think he was just to pumped and not the calculated animal he was against castillo or his other opponents. Anyway I came on here after a few days and accepted that mayweather is a class above.
because he's not as visible or talked about a fighter in america as other boxers on the pound for pound list (that's changed somewhat in the last couple of months though), so people assume that because he hasn't had huge fights in america, he's automatically crap.
Thats because in America they think he should have fought toney and jones were at light heavyweight. Why Should he have fought americans they were no contenders for his title accept lacy and we know what happened to him.
you have to admit though, it would've been at least somewhat interesting to see calzaghe fight either of those guys.
