just as hatton did right up until the point that floyd outclassed him; then for some reason all of the steam seemed to go out of the hatton supporters...

If ca;zaghe had been born 3 years ealier we wouldn't have these problems, he has instead become one of the most overated and underated boxers about.

Not really the same thing as calzghe would be a favourite against anyone 160-175 at the moment where as hatton was a live underdog.

i'm not trying to compare the two as fighters, i'm talking about the trend to massively overrate guys.

Fighting Weight is British and also there's no need to call people dumb Americans, who cares what peice of land a Boxer was born, if they're good they're good. Fans, Flags and anthems don't do the fighting.

haha. good, cause it's pretty unfortunate to have this divisiveness over nationality seemily so prevalent (having lived in europe for a few years myself, i've seen some of this first hand).

That's all well and good but it doesn't matter where you come from.....I always felt Hatton would lose that fight against Floyd but I'll never say a bad word against the guy for actually taking the job on - it was the biggest fight of the year and whether you're American, British or Chinese you have to admire Hattons guts for going for it rather than keeping his trinkets and taking easy fights. He also moved up 7lbs in that fight as we all know.

7lbs.....the same difference that there was between Calzaghe and Jones......there is a very valid comparison there. Mayweather P4P number 1, so was Jones. Shame Calzaghe hasn't got a pair of balls really or we might have had a big fight back in the day.

So if he'd have been born 3 years earlier, what difference would it have made? You've got me confused with that one.

Bear in mind when you answer this that even if he'd been born 3 years earlier Warren would have still promoted him.

That is unfortunate indeed, but some people don't care where you're from, if you're good you're good. Seems simple enough to me.
Good night and Merry Christmas (but not to B-Hop as he's a muslim)

oh yeah, i'm not taking away from hatton having the stones to fight floyd, i'm just saying that his support was a bit overzealous in some cases.

"They" have the current P4P number 1 fighter in the world, I guess you never saw the film of Hatton dropping the nut on the ring-post, right?

You'd have to go back a long way to find a time when the P4P number 1 wasn't American in fact.
