Foreman in the build up to Zaire looked like a guy who wanted to cause serious damage, void of emotion with a Killer's glare, Tyson and Liston are good calls but an early 70's Foreman was a mean hombre

Now then there is scary and scary.

Jack Johnson could intimidate his oponents as much with a smile as Sony Liston could with a scowl.

Max Baers wild eyed look must have been prety chilling to people who knew about Frankie Campbel.

    Interesting point.

Ali doesn't look intimidating, but he was the only one who intimidated Liston. You could argue that his belittling talk contributed to Liston giving up in the first fight. At one point, Liston is on the ropes and Ali screams something derogatory at him, Liston throws a double jab at him, Ali moves back just enough to make him miss, then comes back with two punches of his own that land. That stuff is demotivating for sure. Thing is, Ali's "super confident" stance also works when he's losing and being hit. The opponent think he's not hurt, or that he can't hurt him, it's discouraging. When a guy like Liston or Tyson is losing, all of the intimidation factor is gone forever. For that opponent anyway.
